I agree the Beatles are overrated, but they were very high rated in the first place. Knock a couple down in the rating column and they are still recognized as one of the best bands ever.
.. Only slighty good ones are A7X and Alkaline Trio.

All of these are crummy choices with the exception of Metallica, and they're not *amazing* per se.

I have no bloody idea why they were so extremely popular back in the day.
Something about them being very good and also revolutionary. Add to that the music-industry wasn't that big in those times, they had a lot of influence because there wasn't much else that everybody liked.
I can see why some would like some of their early work, but not much else. It all went down hill once they got into using drugs (at least when it was obvious).

Alright, good point - makes perfect sense.
But looking back on them from today, I feel that they're pretty 'meh'.
