Don't worry about graphics now. Make the map fun to play (borders, bonus, territory count). Once all of that is agreed upon, then make the map look good.Balsiefen wrote:Ok this has been longer than expected but i have just completed a complete revmap.Boarders are now thicker and its hand drawn. I haven't added the legend or names but what do people think of graphics?
No point in making a good looking map when you need to change it every 5 days to fix a little gameplay issue.

maybe you can even use them to split the huge Inverness?
and even if they have no effect on gameplay they should still be there visually
and better/more detailed borders would be nice, but I guess you plan to do that later..

Again? damn it! i can never get that one right
Compared to maps that have made it to finalforge they are still a bit uneven but you are going in the right direction.
I prefer them more thin as well but that´s just a personal opinion.. they are in a separate layer, right?
i wish gimp did 2 pxl brushes. it does 3 (that) or 1 which people complain about because it looks pixelated (which it does) they are in a seperate layer (exept for the colours but thats easily redone)

the map so far is a great start. My suggestion is taht you add 2 more territories, because right now you have 34, which leaves neutrals in all game types. If you bump it up to 36, you only would have neutrals for 5 player games. You could possibly divide Inverness into 2, and then add another territory somewhere else.

Thank you
i think inverness and ayrshire, inverness because its too big and ayrshire because it should be split in to north and south ayrshire. I want those continents to be a little bigger than they are as well.
Does anyone think i should remove a few impassables as theres loads of territories worth 2 and 3 or does it make the gameplay more interesring?

Changes
Split inverness
Split Ayrshire
Raised Strathclyde bonus from 6 to 7
Raised Highlands bonus from 4 to 5
Raised boarders bonus from 2 to 3

EDIT: Move the south ayrshire text so it isn't covered by the bloody mountains
you tell me
(i'm concidering mabye combining Lothian with Boarders and/or removing a few mountains)
