This idea has been rejected.

The only way that it could be approved is if the ENTIRE site decided it would be okay if EVERYONE's scores were reset.

Here is a link to the thread: GameType Specific ScoreBoards - Rejected

Ranking by Game Type

Didn't see this in the suggestion box thread, or by search so thought I would start a new post about it.

What do you all think about rankings based on game type? Thus basically separating your rank up into say a singles rank, a doubles rank, a triples rank etc. I think it would 1) give a better indication of what type of player the person is 2) show who is the best at each individual game type. Anyway let me know what you all think.

already suggested i guess...

don't know if its on the to do list though... :?:

or rejected :?

Should there be seperate rankings for those who play solo?

One can be ranked on team score, doubles, triples ect and solo.

I say this because in viewing the topped ranked people most of them seem to rely on doubles and triples. It seems a good team has a better chance of winning then a good solo player against 4 or 5 others.

Just a thought

what constitutes "most" to you? what percentage of the "top players" play team games? is this a top ten, top fifteen, top twenty? you are making HUGE generalizations without much factual info backing up your ASSertation. maybe you should try to be a bit more specific in what it is you are trying to convey... thank you... -0

p.s.-i play several styles of play, so i would have to be ranked seperately in each one? makes no sense...

p.p.s.-i would guess that most of the "top players" are single freestyle players..

Agreed

This has been suggested many many times, but is difficult to implement because it's hard to recalculate singles/teams scores on old games (and impossible in some cases due to lost game logs)... something might be done at some stage in the future but I believe it is fairly low priority.

Your contention that most of the top ranks seem to rely on doubles and triples is no longer true - it used to be probably a year or more ago, but now there are lots of top ranked players who play either mostly singles or a mix. In fact 6 of the top 7 players are either singles players or play a mixture of singles and team games (ie not just the occassional singles game).

Also this should be in the suggestions forum :P

Yeah, I've noticed this too. That's why you've got to join a clan once you can qualify I think... Seems you can get up to the first 200-pt break with pick-up games, and from there to Lieutenant it's tougher going. Probably play tournaments. At Lietenant it seems the serious clans start to get hot for you. Anyway, I'm looking for decent team partners / clansmen at the moment, so check out my profile and PM me if anyone reading this tread is interested (yeah, I'm not too proud to prostitute my mad skills).

Yes I was making a broad generalization. There is nothing wrong with generalizing. Its why we have focus groups and polling.

Im not saying Im right or wrong. I just wanted to open it for discussion and hear others opinions. It was just my observation. Who knows the games could change tommorow.

I was looking through games to join and many of the public games were doubles, triples and Quad. Many top 15 names were there. I didnt see them listed in multi player single games.

Scientific nope. observation? yes...observation leads to questions.

"you are making HUGE generalizations without much factual info backing up your ASSertation. maybe you should try to be a bit more specific in what it is you are trying to convey... thank you... -0"

I also say what I mean without the tendency to play silly word games. So who's not being specific in what they wish to convey? *grin*

There's your selection bias... Most of the top singles player either play private singles games with other high ranks, or freestyle speed games. So you will never see them in public waiting for game singles pages :)

Nice and Simple for you.....Your observations are completely wrong, the majority of the top 20 ranked play more singles than team games.

truth is a matter of perspective. I would not say I am completely wrong..if that were the case then everyone would agree Im wrong.

I just didnt take all aspects into consideration.

I asked a valid question. Some seem to agree some dont.

you are new, and maybe didn't search the forum for this, but it has been discussed in great detail before. it is a good question, or it would not have been hashed and rehashed so many times. but when you say most of the top players are in team games, i just don't think that is so... anyway, it's an interesting thread!!!-0
