The world would be a better place if more people played cricket.

1-It has breaks for meals.
2-The Kent County Cricket Club has a tree in it but nobody minds.
3-England are quite good at it.
4-The position names
Square leg, fine leg, silly mid on, deep extra cover, slips, gully and third men.
5-shots played and bowling names
Leg breaks, googlies, sweeps, beamers, maidens, flippers and yorkers.
6-It can take 5 days to play some games.
7-You don't need to be that fit to play it.
8-Nobody takes it too seriously.

The tree at the Canterbury ground sadly got blown down a few years back during a storm, got a new one though :D I have spent many an afternoon there , drinking beer and turning bright pink in the sun....happy days !

Am I on your foe list??????

No
I think I suffered a temporary bout of tree blindness

Its a shame its not taken up more at a professional level because USA would have a superb team if it could pull on the resources that your American football pulls on.

I think professional soccer will improve in the U.S. over time. From what I understand the younger soccer players are in extremely competitive leagues (with traveling teams and the like).

btw, in ireland and australia it's also called soccer... so not only are you in the wrong thread your statement is also wrong.

As usual, I must apologize that I did not spell this out more completely, for the slower kids in the class.

Just out of curiosity, what did you think I meant, that made you think it was in the wrong thread?

america and can'tada aren't the only places that call it soccer, i grew up calling it soccer and i'm certainly not from north america. typical narrow mindedness from yourself.

it probably is underrated in north america (viewing if not competing) but that's beside the point.

Firstly, my "typical narrow mindedness" didn't say anything about any specific countries. Your narrow minded assumptions about what I meant are the only thing doing that.

Secondly, YOU FUCKING AGREE WITH ME.

Thirdly, stop trying to derail this thread.

Fourthly, comprehension. You're doing it wrong.

Come on guys, play nicely.

Utah just upset Cal in the Collegiate Rugby Sevens National Championships last Sunday, did anyone hear this mentioned this week. The Sudden Death Overtime Win is Cal's first loss in over a year.
btw... Rugby Sevens will be included in the next Olympics.

I would like to watch what a professional dodgeball or handball game would be like...& lacrosse has potential, but right now it's just a yuppee sport. It's gonna need to pick up a broader audience if it's going to do well publicly. And soccer is big in America for playing up until high school/middle school. I've just always pictured soccer as more of a hobby than sport I would follow.

I can verify that.

Now even my little western PA town has a thriving league. There are more soccer players than baseball players (though a few play both). Its been the same everywhere I have lived. (one reason I did not count this as an "underrated sport")

Box lacrosse. My 10 year old plays it and it is insane. The speed and roughness make it exciting to watch. It is a good substitute for hockey in the off season.

Yes, swimming using only your legs is a little tough. I don't realise it was a sport though.

After seeing Michael Phelps perform in the Olympics, I would not say that it is underrated. It is however, an exceptionally tiring sport.

Let this be clear:

Anything having to do with track and field, swimming, skiing, or racing in general IS NOT A SPORT.
