What an Amazing ideah Agent Smith!!!! I am very impressed and excited!!!
I would love to participate, (not a TL though please).
However i do have a question... how are the maps/settings going to be decided? also are there going to be freestyle play, unlimited forts or manual troop placement involved?

I am hoping it's close to Clan league - no manual, speed, freestyle, or nuclear. I'd be ok with Beta maps being allowed.

I knew there was something I forgot to post. I updated in the first post, but yes no nuclear, freestyle, manual, or speed games. I will allow beta maps, but if a TL wants to have a pre-set list for home maps and settings beta can't be included (in case there are changes or the map is taken down).
I'd love to take credit for the idea, but the original idea was from [player]Grifftron[/player]. I just took the idea and suggestions and put into action. Looking forward to this myself!

Shame not to have nuclear spoils. I think they offer a whole new dimension in how to play best strategy. It would also set this tourney apart a bit more from the CLA standards, as well as give all the contestants an opportunity to play a few more nuclear team games - something very few have done I imagine.
I'm not really fussed either way, but it does add a little something extra to the norm.

If more people say they would like to give it a try, then I will change that to allow for nuclear. At this point though, nuclear is out. (I was always under the impression that nuclear added another dimension of "luck", which most players didn't like)

OK Smithy, you can't say fairer than that mate. Thanks
From my own (limited) experience of playing nuclear I've found it to be a lot less luck-based than other card game varieties (e.g. do you keep troops on cards you own coz you know they are safe if you don't trade, or do you move off and entice the oppo to hit you, etc etc). There's a much greater requirement for team talk and info sharing than in the other card games, yet the gameplay acts out very much like a no-spoils format. I rather like it, but good team mates who chat are absolutely vital and there could be some sparks in this tourney if one ends up with a muppet on the team (which makes player selection all that more important).

oh don't worry, I'm sure that's me easily just based on experience/medals. I'm just hoping there's a team captain that knows me from before this that would pick me before last

I'd vote to allow nuclear spoils if you're still considering it. I think they're a blast (sorry).

Never been intrested in nuclear spoils (team) games until now, you made it sound like fun

Personally i think we (clans etc) are a bit too skeptical about new settings sometimes.
i would vote to allow nyukular spoils.

All right, since I never really had anything against them in the first place and there seems to be some support, nuclear spoils are now in. Between that and Beta maps allowed I feel like the game selection is sufficiently different from most clan matchups and should be a fun time had by all. Hoorah! (Just got back from going out for my b-day, so I've had a tad to drink)
updated as well.
