Round 6 games for the loser brackets have been created and invitations sent. :) The semifinals will begin after this round, so the winner brackets' break is almost over.

I am out of town, this week, with no internet access. As a result, I won't be able to update any tournaments until I get back. Sorry for the delay.

In an effort to allow [player]ddslu[/player] to play most of their games before their vacation on the 23rd, I have created the Iceland final game between them and [player]amazzony[/player]. Good luck, guys! :)

Iceland - Game AF - Game 7341529 - ddslu slipped on ice, lost his lucky dice and amazzony won.

I've updated the format for determining the champion in the first post. Basically, I added a way to handle a tie. Below are the old and new versions with the relative sections in bold.

Old wrote:
  • Format - Each bracket will be double-elimination (more chances to win!). Each round will consist of 1v1 games on the corresponding map. The winners of each bracket will then play each other on each map in best-of-3 format. In the event that the same player wins both brackets, this last part will obviously be skipped. :)

The winners of each bracket will then play each other on each map 3 times in best-of-6 format. In the event that both players win 3 games, the player winning in the least amount of total rounds will be declared the overall winner. In the event that the same player wins both brackets, this last part will obviously be skipped. :)

If anybody has a better idea for handling ties, I'm open to suggestions. :)

If I may suggest, though not sure if doing it is a good idea, then I'd just suggest a 7th game either on Classic map or on a random map. Number of rounds is decided a lot by drop and dice so not sure if finals should be decided like that. Of course, I don't want to butt in so I'll accept whatever format is decided on :)

I don't really like the idea of using a completely different map. :? I also don't like the idea of a playoff on only one of the two glacier maps. That being said, using both maps for a playoff will never work (as far as I can see), because you'll always have an even number of games.

Let me think about this a little more and see if I can come up with a better solution. I agree number of rounds isn't the best option. :)

Okay, I think this will work better.

MrGlassB, thank you for a well ran tournament! =D> I hope to defend my title in the next edition! :D

And a great applause to [player]ddslu[/player] who was a gracious opponent and most likely lost only due to my enormous luck (I started all 6 final games).
