I can not speak for my mother's recipes specifically, but I can tell you that she makes a mean Aloo gobi that will rival any Filet Mignon.
I only speak with her about once a month and sadly I doubt I would remember to ask her about the vindaloo and/or sag aloo recipe...

What I don't understand, autoload, is how a person of such undeniable intelligence, like yours, could harbor such suppresed hatred for Americans, when it is they who have extended their hands and given you your well deserved education?! If you cannot admire them for the way they choose to live their lives, then atleast understand the opportunity they have given you. I am, for example, from a the 3rd world country of Philippines, and have come to the US to find opportunities and to accomplish my ever growing dreams and aspirations. My country have been surpressed by every culture and society imaginable; from the ever controlling Japanese, to the crusade driven Spaniards, even to the capitalistic Americans. Even so, I feel absolutely no hatred, or even any kind of agression towards any of these people. One should never blame a certain culture for the failures of the individuals. I too am here to take advantage of the American education, but unlike you sir, I admire the very society that I now live among. In majority, I believe in the values and morality that defines the real Americans; to live in the liberty in which has been rightly fought and held on to. Now I hope that you have enough sense, which I know you have in you, to insult (if one must) not me nor my ideals, but that of my reasoning. I am more than happy to indulge you into a debate, but that based on the analytical process instead of a show in ego. I anxiously await your answer good sir, in this, although exciting, but escalating conundrum.

If you are indeed Indian, perhaps you would do well to observe your behavior at this point. Sure, it is a flame thread and this is where 'the gloves come off,' but you are not acting any better than an American would.
I myself get disgusted when looking at the negative traits Americans display, but if you are going to start openly criticizing them in the manner you are using, you should actually do so from the higher ground rather than using your country's heritage to make it seem like you are superior.

Contribute??? When the US invaded Berlin in 1943, Hitler was two weeks away from having the Atomic bomb first. How would history have turned out if that had happened. Whenever there is a disaster somewhere in the world, even in a hostile country, who's the first to render aid, the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. After 9/11 the Iranians were dancing in the street CELEBRATING the deaths of 3,000 men, women, and children, simply because they were christian Americans. A few months later, when Iran suffered through an earthquake that killed 20,000 Iranians, we didn't celebrate, or gloat, or rejoice in the deaths of 20,000 muslims. Red cross was there THE NEXT DAY, with relief supplies. When London was bombed, Red Cross was right there. Don't tell me the US doesn't contribute. The US military may stick it's nose where it doesn't belong at times *cough* Iraq *cough*. That would be our stupid warmonger presidents fault. Despite our redneck president, we are there whenever disaster strikes another country. When a tsunami devestated the Indian Ocean, killing 250,000 people, the US raised over 16 Billion dollars in relief funds, as well as sending Red Cross out to assist the survivors. I myself purchased several dozen bottles of water to be sent over to Indonesia. We may seem arrogant at times, but hearing about the plights in other countries, and misfortunes, we sometimes just feel so damn lucky to live here, and we get up on a high horse at times. We are proud of our country, and we'll let the whole world know it. Don't tell me the US doesn't contribute. We contribute more than any other country is even capable, and if your country ever suffers a calamity of some kind, we'll be right there to help in your time of need. If a tidal wave wiped out the eastern seaboard of the US, killing millions, how many countries would send help for us?
