I've updated the series results (2nd post down), so you can see where all the first-round action stands through Thursday night. A couple of the Game 5s have been sent, the rest will go out Monday (if necessary...one potential sweep)

Plash Ricrem was distraught after his team's game 4 defeat at the hands of the Flyers. CCN caught up to Ricrem after he fueled a desperate offensive barrage (Offensive games sweep) to equal the series at 2 games a piece, but to no avail (Red Baron was the CC version of Hallak).

CCN: Any comment on your team's performance tonight?

PR: What the blazes do you want me to say? You see that F'ing scoreboard?!? By my count we put nearly 70 shots on the net and we still lost.

CCN: So you're putting the blame on your goalie, Mass Miracle? He only faced like 20 shots all night...

PR: Well I would have liked to have seen MM do a little better,obviously, but I can't really blame him for any of this. I mean were you guys watching the same game I was? RedBaron was simply doing his best Hallak impression tonight. I thought MM was on his game tonight (had the early lead on the save% map, which was all we really needed), and then the next thing I know they jam a couple of wrap arounds past him and we were in fairly deep trouble.

CCN: Any comment on your powerplay, which once again went scoreless tonight?
PR: *shrugs* I don't really know what to say about it. I didn't think we really needed it tonight the way we were getting pucks on net. Would have been nice to have a couple more opps, but when you put that many shots on net you expect to win the game. I mean last I checked, we only let up like 3 power plays all game, it wasn't like we were taking stupid penalties and they were getting tons of ops.

CCN: Any closing thoughts on the series? Are you guys done now?
PR: Well I'm not going to lie, I really thought we had this thing all squared up after the first two periods. This one is going to take some time to get over. It's definitely a punch to the stomach game. I'm hopeful we'll be able to shake it off and bounce back next game, or I suppose our season is going to be over.

Bracket and boxscores through Game 4s are updated...congrats to Colorado (advancing in five) and Chicago (advancing in a four-game sweep) -- our first two series winners.

To bad CO could not get past the first round in real life.

Pittsburgh has officially closed out the Senators in five games and Montreal beats Washington in six.

sorry for the delay on this tourney...been a busy week at work...first-round series are wrapping up with Phoenix and Detroit going to Game 7 in the West, while Philly and New Jersey and Boston and Buffalo are in Game 6s.

sorry all...Memorial Day weekend and the day after have been crazy...should get updates and new games out tonight.

Montreal and Vancouver are off to Game One wins in the second round, while a series of long Game 7s are nearing an end in first-round play.

I'll be posting an official update once some of those first-rounders go final.

Updated boxes and brackets...Philadelphia advances with an 8-1 win over New Jersey in Game 6.

Two other first-round series are in pivotal overtimes at the moment with Phoenix and Detroit going to sudden death in a Game 7, while Boston and Buffalo are in double OT in Game 5 of their series.

Just a small problem that only people like me would even notice. NHL playoffs get reseeded so the matchups for the 2nd round are off. I know it doesn't matter though since we didnt play the regular season and just picked teams.

Yes, since it's just the playoffs, we'll just play through the seeds...had we gone through the regular season I would have followed the NHL format. good question, though.

Not a whole lot of movement, as teams continue long overtime battles, but we do have Roberto Luongo standing on his head to help Vancouver to a tight 4-3 win over Chicago for a 2-0 lead in their 2nd round series.

Look for new games where available in the next day or two.

Bracket is updated...Montreal and Vancouver are each up 2-0 in the 2nd round...still waiting on the long 1st round overtime matches...nearing a close on those now though.

All right...Detroit has beaten Phoenix 5-4 in overtime of Game 7 to advance to the 2nd round where the Red Wings will face Colorado.

In 2nd round news, Montreal won a tight 3-2 decision for a commanding 3-0 lead over Pittsburgh.

Boston and Buffalo remain in triple OT of Game 5 in the first round...a Buffalo win ends the series...a Boston wins means Game 7 for that matchup.

I will be sending out available games late tonight. All brackets and boxscores are updated...I will keep the first round boxes on for about a week, then wipe them off and only have the current 2nd round series boxes showing.

Trip to DisneyLand and closed on a house today, so now we're moving

I've updated some of the bracket and boxscores...Chicago staves off elimination with a 4-3 win in Game 5 against Vancouver. Still quite a few active maps from the last set I sent out, but I'll be touching base through the weekend and hoping to get out another set of matchups.

Did send Game 6 for Vancouver-Chicago and Game 4 for the Colorado-Detroit series.
