Congratulations on the Pyrrhic victory.

Another from me on the basis of CoF calling certain members of KORT dishonourable and them disagreeing. Please note that I agree KORT has the right to exercise the 21 game punishment, as that is what we agreed to when we joined the CCup. They also have the right to punish us for the one game that CoF joined past his 20 game limit. The right to exercise the 21 game punishment does not mean that I think it is the honourable thing to do.

Honour or honor is the evaluation of a person's social status as judged by that individual's community. At least some members of the CC community dispute the honor of KORT given their choice to enforce the 21 game rule.

Dr Samuel Johnson, in his A Dictionary of the English Language (1755), defined honour as having several senses, the first of which was "nobility of soul, magnanimity [the virtue of being great of mind and heart, encomopassing a refusal to be petty, a willingness to face danger, and actions for noble purposes, it raises the possessor above revenge, and makes him delight in acts of benevolence, which makes him disdain injustice and meanness], and a scorn of meanness."

A code of honour differs from a legal code, also socially defined and concerned with justice, in that honour is implicit rather than explicit and objectified.

I have it on good authority that many members of KORT decided to choose a 21 game ruling because of what members of TOFU wrote in this forum. They also may have overlooked the 21 game violation until we put in a valid complaint to the administrators. That is the definition of being petty and revenge, and is something that no honourable person would do.

Terrible mistake to make by CoF, so unlucky, but no blame should lie with him, we all make mistakes occasionally...

However rules are rules, congrats KORT and also well done to Chuck for sticking to his guns, must have been a hard decision to make.

Unlucky TOFU, prove that you should have won this matchup, shame it ended this way... x

you missed this quiet easily like myself i just looked at the ops post where it holds the player usage list and is controlled by kort. now i think this 21 game should be stopped and the quiestion brought 2 all clan leaders 2 make a choice of what should happen.

i feel this because when issueing games you go 2 the thread 2 check the player usage (if there is a limit). and kort have not been keeping the thread running properly so all i can say is cof can still play in another 15 games because he has only played in 5.

Don't be ridiculous, I am sure TOFU were keeping tabs of their own number of games per player. Chuck made the rules, and everyone agreed, as harsh as the rule is, it is KORT (and Chucks) decision as to whether all 21 games are forfeited or not. I just feel desperately sorry for CoF as it is an easy mistake for anyone to make. Brutal, but it is the rules and atleast it will never happen again!

As for the thread not being upheld properly, if there are rules that have been broken by that then there should be a punishment. However, I do not believe there is such a rule and as such I am afraid has little place in this 'debate'. Perhaps it wasn't 'running properly', however that is not for us to discuss it is for the leaders of KORT, TOFU and Chuck to decide whether that should have any influence on this ruling. Which I assume, has already been done.

I will say one thing. Over the past few days this thread has added so many views that I think it will pass the main thread by the time this discussion is over.

According to King Achilles and my official warning, you can all blame me for being the "puppet master" of the game chat whatnot.

The ending of the story has yet to be written, though. The official results and standing are often ignored by the CC clan commnity as whole. Regardless of the forfeiture, I'm sure that everybody will look to the actual results to mentally determine who they deem the victor.

I'm curious to see what the forfeiture will do to TOFU as a whole. Does it demoralize them and the remaining games are played out in the spirit of resignation, or do they buckle down for the right to claim that they really won?

If there's going to be a morale problem, I'd venture to say the clan to really look at is Cort. You gotta figure there's a few of 'em who aren't exactly thrilled at the clan's decision.

In fact, I feel like a round of vile speculation as to how each cow voted would be the perfect way to spend a lazy Friday.

I can guarantee that our morale has doubled and we are even more strong and tight clan than before.

We are far from demoralized. We always play our best with our backs to the wall, and that is what is going on here, our backs are to the wall to win 31+ games.

Even if they win the challenge, there are already a significant number of people who have lost respect for them so they have really lost either way. That said if it turns out TOFU wins more games than them i don't think they will ever be able to live it down as a clan.

Of course they may not care what other people think of them and they may be ok with winning this way but I personally do not agree with this decision at all.

I think it'd be funny if it ended 30-30 and people would be curious as to whether a tie-breaker would still be played out. I think that'd really go along well with the absurdity of this thread.

lol well we could look at this another way 2 does chuuck plan on runing another one of these cup things because i will only say he might find it hard getting clans 2 sign up.

Yes, there will be another conqueror's cup and I disagree, I don't think I will have trouble getting sign ups. Pretty much every clan has agreed this has been a great competition.

There will be a discussion of the rules and things will be changed as needed before the next one.
