id recomend a map based of the world of AZEROTH as seen in Warcraft 3

This has been brought up before and Blizzard has specifically said no. So we can't for copyright reasons.

I run a live action roleplaying game that has been around for about 15 years, and many of my players are members here as well.

Further, my first novel comes out this year which takes place in this game world.

I'd love to have a map of this game world for Conquer Club! (I own the copyright obviously so there is no problem there!) I could mention the map in my books, blog and bulletin board, so maybe we would get some more Conquer Club members too.

However, I have no real computer or graphic skills...

Is anyone interested in this?

I am also confused at the lack of enthusiasm for the roman empire, but im guessing because it would be too similar to the european map? I don't know.

How about a map of the world at a past time frame (the only world maps that are existant are of the present, and all the "ancient" maps are only of a certain region), like the boundaries, territories, and everything would be of an era in the past. I think that would be pretty cool

To whom were you referring? I think a Hogwarts map would be cool, but I do understand the copyright restrictions. Has the copyright expired or otherwise been released for the Middle Earth map? Is there any kind of guideline about what is off-limits?

Would love to see a map based on Robert Jordan's Wheel of time series. Part of the world map is included in the books and more showing the Seanchan etc could be invented.
Anyways, I'm probably the only fantasy geek interested in it but I thought I would put it out there =)

Apparently one of the mods thought that topic should be merged with this one....

Anyway that was to the post above me wanting to do a warcraft map. The rule for the site as set by lack and enforced by Andy is that you need the holder of the copyright to okay what you are doing. In the case of the Middle Earth map that creator got an okay from the holders of that copyright.

The warcraft map, on the other hand, has been attempted several times and Blizzard specifically said no to it. So we can't do one.

btw, i am waiting on the copyright 4 a springfield map, if any1 has any helpfull sorces i can use 2 make the map, feel free 2 pm them 2 me

thanks, i have been looking through there b4 and will base it on the big map. my main question is...are there any places that ppl feel have 2 b included on the map (evergreen ter., quicky mart...) and how big do u want the map 2 b...i massive 1 likke world 2.1 (there is the depth in info 2 do that ) or a medium 1 (50ish terotorys but some of the major places will b missed)

Size and detail is tricky, I had never really thought about how much is in that town until I just googled the maps! Wow, its amazing. I would probably make it a largeish sized map and include some main attractions like:
kwiki mart, powerplant, simpsons house, Town hall/jebidiah springfield statue, monorail, springfield dam and zoo, the mountains including murderhorn, springfield university, southside of town/squidport, cemetary + pet cemestary, springfield harbour and waterfront, prison, airport, mall
and maybe break the central town into parts north, east, west and harbourside.
oh and dont forget good old moe's tavern and mr burns mansion!

(lol i guess its hard to fit it all in) Those would be my main points of interests but i'm sure i left stuff out

Ps the monorail should let u move from one part of town map instantly to another, you could even have to sacrifice a troop in the process since its so deadly lol. ok thats enough random thoughts for now. have fun!

lol, whan u look at the map and have watched a fair few of the simpsons episodes (i have ) u realise that there is 100s of attractions u can upt un, it is just finding the space 2 fit them all on a 600x800 map

just another ide, but we've done basicly every continent except south america why not do one of that, also maybe a map of all of asia and all of oceania

Has anyone ever considered revamping the Brazil map? It looks like crap, but has good playability, IMO.

My fiancee and I love the current maps on the site, but had two ideas for something new.

Although we don't have the necessary skills to make them ourselves, we thought it would at least be good to put it out there for someone who does.

I read the first few pages of this thread and didn't see these on here, they might be, but reading 48 pages of posts is pretty daunting, so I apologize in advance if I'm just reposting what someone else already said.

First idea:

We were thinking it would be cool if someone could do a map of Candyland the boardgame. We think it had potential to make a pretty good map.

We were thinking that someone could do the Map of OZ from the book Wicked by Gregory Macguire.

I had to scan the pic myself, and it didn't come out perfect, partly because the map takes up two pages from the book and its hard to get the whole thing on the scanner and partly because my scanner sucks.

Anyway, here it is:

I would agre, but go with the historic, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, time line.
