Three years today. Time to update this thread, Duk.
There seems to be movement toward some type of peace accord/treaty with the US and Russia talking in Saudi Arabia.
The current conflict in Ukraine began on 24 February 2022 when Russian military forces entered the country from Belarus, Russia and Crimea.
Prior to the invasion, there had already been eight years of conflict in eastern Ukraine between Ukrainian Government forces and Russia-backed separatists.
US President Donald Trump was right to re-establish links with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to set up peace talks to end the war in Ukraine, a senior Labour minister has said.
Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson said there could be "no negotiated peace without Russia" and that Trump's approach had brought "Russians to the table".
Well, that balanced and nuanced content has me convinced...

You may want to read posts in this thread, kennyp. As I recall, you have not been posting here much or for long. There are cogent arguments already made here.

Did you READ or post much in this Forum or specifically in this thread? THAT is the point, not when you joined and started to play games on CC, kennyp. How much of the 28 pages in this thread have you read?
As far as I know, you, kennyp, are late to this discussion in this thread.

------------For the past 3 years a church had a sign board display...On the grass just off the sidewalk..."Pray for Ukraine"... It's not there anymore...Now reads..."Bingo, Saturday at 7pm..."...Even GOD has given up on Ukraine...Looks like it really is up to TRUMP to get this war over... TRUMP is pressing both sides... Russia/Soviet Union looks to keep the territory they siezed... Ukraine just signed a deal, to sell minerals to The United States... Hopefully, the minerals are in land still held by Ukraine...... Zelenskyy arrives in Washington on Friday where he'll sign-over a large portion of Ukraine's natural resources to the United States.
Ukraine was never going to exist as a real nation. That was always a foregone conclusion. The only question is what percentage Russia would get and what percentage the U.S. would get. The hollowed-out core will continue along as a sort-of self-governing husk. Imagine being Germany having just forked over $50 billion to help the U.S. get a big slice of Ukraine and you get nothing in return.

You obviously did not READ nor make any cogent points about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Did you READ anything in this thread before this page? It appears that you did not READ any such analysis or points.
Yes, I see you have been on CC since Wed Nov 12, 2014 4:21 pm. That is meaningless in this discussion.

Cogent explanation.

Russia continues its pattern of terror bombing over Ukrainian cities. It focuses on soft civilian targets. Since the London blitz, it has been obvious that terrorist bombings along cannot bring down a nation.
Meanwhile, Putin's armies, composed mostly of unwilling conscripts and released prisoners, make futile attempts to gain ground on land.
War fatigue has to some degree taken hold in Ukraine, but the majority are still confident in eventual victory.

It's kinda funny to me we are still talking about Ukraine when the US gov't has fallen to the kremlin. Surprise upset winner of the cold war in the 12th round is Russia. Russian Oligarchs, come buy your $5m greencard so you can help bid up the price on the federal lands auctions planned for 2026.

Trump wrote: Yes, possibly. I know some Russian oligarchs that are nice people. They aren't as wealthy as they used to be but i think they can afford five million dollars.

WOW. Never before seen in history.
4:28 is where the fireworks start
The best part is JD Vance: "Have you said thank you once? Have you said thank you to us once?" Zelenskyy was treated like a nobody, a mere child. Even after he was publicly castrated in a way no world leader has been since the Roman Empire. This just laid bare for the world to see: Ukraine is a client state. This was not a meeting of two presidents; it was a provincial baron coming to the imperial capital to grovel before the new ruler.
Zelenskyy: "Can I say something?"
Trump: "No. You've done enough talking."
This is what I voted to see. But even this is beyond my wildest imagination. It's what Zelenskyy deserved for interfering in the U.S. election by going to Pennsylvania to campaign for Kamala.

DAMN STUFF IS HAPPENING FAST ...
Trump reportedly cancels rest of meeting; Zelenskyy seen racing to his vehicle with flight departure back to Kiev pushed up by 14 hours.
- Ukraine MP Oleksandr Dubinsky has tabled legislation in the Rada to impeach Zelenskyy saying his treatment in Washington was an unprecedented humiliation to Ukraine it hadn't experienced in 1,000 years.
- The United States has just terminated a $3 billion award for reconstruction of the Uke energy grid.
Max Blumenthal nails it:
Zelensky looked like a petulant child as he attempted to lecture an American president on the need to pay for his adventures. Uncle Joe and Nuland are gone. There is no Vindman mole to burrow from within. CNN doesn’t matter. This comedian’s act is done.
BBC is reporting that there are panicked discussions among EU chiefs of government.
THERE WILL BE NO DAWN FOR UKRAINE.
MEGA MAGA UPDATE - THE GRAVY TRAIN IS COMING TO AN END!!!
The Trump administration is considering ending all ongoing shipments of military aid to Ukraine in response to Zelensky’s remarks in the Oval Office on Friday and his perceived intransigence in the peace process, per senior administration official
Since our new stated goal as a country is to bring peace through bending the knee to Russia, perhaps Trump and Putin should start negotiations without Zelenski...Next year, America can send troops to join the Russian forced in securing peace through annexing all Ukrainian lands back to Russia. The US may be stretched thin with it's forces also occupying parts of it's 51st state but trump can wipe Putins cum off his face long enough and to sign a bill sending our troops to help.... I mean, as long as it stops WWIII that is.

that's what they did two weeks ago in Saudi Arabia
this is a neocon proxy war, the input of the proxies is no more relevant to starting or stopping it than the input of the puppets to starting or stopping the puppet show

Did they discuss banning the associated press, but allowing Russian state controlled media outlets into the white house to cover the public Zelenski shaming at the meeting as well?

Indeed. Ultimately American voters made this decision. They were fully informed about what they were voting for, and a majority wanted this so now it's up to Europe to decide if they want to step up or let Ukraine be absorbed back into Russia
