You'll probably need to add some sort of indicator line for a lot of those coastal territories.

The West coast is less of an issue, but could benefit from one-line-labels (ie put the text onto a single line)

MrBenn wrote:There are going to be issues with trying to identify which territory name goes with which army number - particularly on the East Coast...

Some of the mountain ranges could be extended slightly to make it absolutely clear that
- Washington doesn't border Montana (add a mountain to the right edge)
- Idaho doesn't border Wyoming (add another to the top)

Done, done and done! :D

1. I'd be inclined to move the army circle for Long Island / New Jersey to the right of the territory labels - you could possibly then do away with the territory indicator?

2. Long Island could do with being made a tiny bit darker so that the colour appears to be closer to the grey-white of the mainland. I expect the colours are on the same layers alread, and that the whiteness of LI is just an optical illusion... but I'd still be inclined to fix it by adding a blob of black on a new layer, with opacity somewhere between 5-15% just to kame it look more similar.

3. Is it just me, or is there some very slight pixellation on the mountains?

Anyway, if you can fix #1, then the graphics stamp should follow. #2/#3 are purely subjective ;-)

#3 is just you... But at least I can get to work on those coordinates soon to get this bad boy quenched.

POLL RESULT

Would it be a good idea to divide Canada in two and move Labrodor to the Republic of Quebec?

Poll ended at Wed Dec 09, 2009 7:55 pm

Divide Canada in 2 and name one Cascadia and the other Greater Toronto?... 3... 11%
Divide Canada in 2 and name one Cascadia and the other Republic of Ontario?... 3... 11%
If you voted for one the above - Instead of Republic of Ontario, what about Ontario Republic?... 3... 11%
Move Labrador to Republic of Quebec?... 4... 14%
Do all the Raskholnikov has suggested on page 36!... 3... 11%
Or, just leave Canada the way it is!... 12... 43%

Total votes : 28

I personally think that you need to reduce the white outer glow of the text on the small map a bit; the army circle for New Jersey on the large map could be shifted up about 4 pixels.

That said.....

              Final Forge

---The Fractured America Map has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. The map has passed rigorous gameplay and graphics examinations, and major concerns have been addressed. If you have any other concerns, please make your voice heard. If after a reasonable amount of time there has not been any objection or protest, the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. As long as there is still discussion or posts that have yet to be commented on, the map will remain in Final Forge until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.

Here we go!

Some of the Capitals went wrong somehow, so I'll get those changed later.

Good! New York is way off. But I know you'll get those fixed.
Capitals to start neutral are - SLC, Iowa. Winnipeg, Capone, Havana and Montana, just as a reminder.

Must have been a slip of the finger there. The one to the left of PA is supposed to be NY.

There is a shitload of outer glow going on in the map. Try toning down the opacity of the glow on the text so it doesn't look like my eyes are being barraged by white-yellow. Looks nice otherwise.

Reduced the text's outer glow a little bit more. jefjef, yes it is a little pale, but I had to make it this way to get it stamped. The background texture makes it that way

.44 hope this helps your eyes!

Looking good Gilligan. I think the numbers in Baja California need to be moved over to the right a pixel or two, but I don't think it's too big of a deal! ;)

The numbers don't show up well at all. Seems like a giant step backwards.
