Out of curiousity does the rule apply in the top 5 that you move up one when you defend a challenge because that could be an easier route to number 1 than beating the number 1 player...?

If you beat Dukasaur, and he beats chapcrap, then you CAN challenge him for the #1 spot. Rule #10 only applies if you LOSE to Dukasaur.

Rule #15 comes into play that says, "...The only exception is the #2 player MUST challenge the #1 player and win to achieve the #1 spot."

Quick note: You don't need a pw if you fill in the names of both players at the bottom of the form when you create the games if the other person accepts before the invites expire. Once they expire then any cook can join so it's a good idea to use pw's. However, if you put the other person's name first, they will not receive an invite because you will be selected first, meaning the computer will replace their names with yours in the first slot and leave the 2nd slot blank. Another good reason to use a pw.

However, if you don't use a pw and the other person declines the invites or let's them expire, you might meet a really great player or 2 in those games so... maybe you should let things happen as they may.

Oh, and when you put in a game number, click the "Game" box above the text and type or paste the number between the [Game][/Game] so that it becomes a link to the game. Do the same with player's names if you want to give people a link to their wall except use the "Player" box. And [url][/url] for links... If you aren't familiar with all the little row of boxes above the text can do, play around a bit. Make up some pm's or responses in a forum and click preview to see what the completed work looks like. You'll be glad you did and so will all who read your pm's and forum posts and such. Class dismissed.
