Well I'll see what I can do, but I fear this will be largely impossible, due to restrictions of computer graphics. There's only so many pixels in any given area, and no way to add more... :-k

I think in general the flags could be darker.

Well, if you can put larger stars (yes, I know, they are barely spots) and fewer of them, the suggestion of a circle of stars will be clearer, which may be more effective, if less accurate.

Thanks ender. Anything else that needs doing?

I can see only one thing myself: the connection between Albalegnius & Ptolemaeus is a bit hard to see in the small map, I'm going to fix this for the next version...

Now seriously guys, if there's anything more I need to do to get this stamped, tell me what it is and I'll do it... I'm going on a vacation in about 3 weeks and I'd like to get this to beta before that if possible.

Gilligan has the XML coordinates almost ready. We should have them up by next weekend I think.

But yeah, if no one has any more criticism to make then maybe it is time to stamp this?

Come on, it's been a week now that no one has had any input on this. Either give me something to do or stamp this thing...

Lack of input does not nec. mean that a map is deserving of a stamp. In fact, it might indicate the exact opposite: that there is no interest.

However, I don't think that is the case with this map.

Giving it the once over a few things stand out to me:

The flags could be darker as right now they're a bit light and hazy.

In the Mission Objectives panel... the sea bonus information and the shuttle information and the flag info merges right into each other and it took me a while to realize that the sea bonuses were independent of having flag bonuses. I'd suggest a thin vertical blue line to separate the information. Or if you're feeling ambitious, break it up into three Mission objective panels.

Why is South Africa ZA and not SA?

Yeah if the map was still at the melting pot or early stages of gameplay, I could interpret the lack of input as lack of interest, but at this point I also think this is not the case. Although there have been some people who hated the map (mibi, yeti) there has also been people who loved it (beals, coleman) so I guess it's a kind of hate-it-or-love-it map. Which is fine with me, you can never please everyone...

Which flags? The ones on the moon or the ones on the shuttles? The ones on the shuttles I could agree on, but the ones on the moon look fine to me.

Hmm, I see what you mean, and I don't think exactly making three independent panels would be good, but perhaps something like thin metal dividers in similar style as the frame could work. I'll see what I can do.

Why is South Africa ZA and not SA?

Earlier I had China as CH and South Africa as SA but it was pointed out to me that CH stands for Chile and SA stands for Saudi-Arabia. ZA is apparently the official two-letter country code for South Africa so I changed it on request.

I meant the shuttles and the ZA is the dumbest thing I have ever heard... well, not ever. But it's dumb. Might as well leave it though.

Nice work on the thin dividers. Much clearer. You could possibly do it for the belligerents section for consistency... but I'm not sure a corner panel would look all that good.

One last thing that stands out to me... It might be better if you reduced the spacing between lines on the big map, for example, Mare Spumans or Mare Crisium. It would tidy things up a tad.

Darken the flags, hit the line spacing... and I think this one should be near ready to go. I honestly can't see anything else graphically wrong or unclear... save for that small text, but there is a reason I play big version so I guess I'm skewed.

Yeah, I don't think it'd look good either.

Hmm, if you mean large map only, will do.

Ah, the text issue again... I honestly have to say I think the text is as clear as any map now. I mean I edited a font to do it, and I don't think there's anything I can do to make it any more clear. Btw I already darkened the shuttle flags, I can't believe you didn't notice...

Yeah, I know... I'm just giving you a hard time about the text. It's as clear as any small map really.

As for the spacing, yeah, just large map.

And the flags... I checked before I commented on them and thought that they looked quite unchanged. Darken more?

Hmm, the main reason I wanted the flags slightly lighter was that they look more like they're painted on the shuttles that way. But if it's really an issue I can try darkening them on the same level as the moon flags.

The flags do look better darkened, except India could be darkened a tad more.

After India's flag is darkened... I have no beef with this map.

Now your eyes are fibbin you IH. India is at the same lightness level as the other flags, and frankly I really don't see why it should be different from the others...

I think this is now just a matter of personal preference, and I'd rather keep the flags as they are now.

On the small map the landing sites look a little too small for the numbers. I'd suggest enlarging them a few pixels.

Good job Gilligan! There's still a few coords that seem 1 pixel off or so, but those are minor tweaks...

Hm, I'll se what I can do, although that is going to mean some more work for Gilligan...
