That's not the way I remember the rules. One game per opponent, not one win per opponent, per round. So you should have chosen 3 different opponents each round.

But I take it HA will clear that up for us.

Even if that was so, if Player 1 keeps losing, that means Player 2 keeps winning, and is therefore in violation of the rule...

Im one for three in this round. Sqeaking on to round 19. Would like to see ww2 poland map.

Thats impressive. Doubt anyone will top that.

I wouldn't mind seeing Knights or Poker club up as map choices next.

I have started taking round 18 games down in preparation of round 19.

Please send me private messages when concerned about players cheating so I can do the research privately as not to tip players off.

Over 18,300 games played so far.

I think we have a better claim on largest "risk" tourney --not that this is--but a better claim

This "HA's 200th Tourney" should be called the unofficial championship. Only difference is that you didnt take money to participate, and you had way more ppl entering.

Since the story itself was probably the web equivalent of page 19 micro-font, I doubt this will get a follow-up. I'm curious about who submitted the Press Release to PRWeb, since I doubt any of the site's staff would refer to it as a "Risk tournament".

Thanks for the compliments--it looks like Andy D submitted the original article--I am with you when they call it a risk tourney--but as long as they do not capitalize the word risk I think they are ok.

Oh and Round 19 is almost upon us.

I think you have a better claim on it by far. Maybe someone here knows, but has there ever been a larger "risk" tournament? This one is the largest on this site by far. I know that there are some big Risk tournaments out there. If they have qualifying/satellite tournaments to get into one of those big ones then there might be a larger tournament than this out there somewhere. But I can't really see thousands of Risk players getting together for a tournament. But what do I know?

But they did capitalize the word. Well the newspaper did anyway. It will be interesting if the initial press release capitalized it. Then CC might find themselves in a little bit of trouble. I know they try to distance themselves from Risk for IP liability reasons.

The legal team may not have had a part in it, but I remember that a press release was one of the "prizes" for winning when the tourney was announced. So CC definitely issued the press release. That said, they might not have even used the word "risk" (capitalized or not) in the release. Perhaps a fact-checker looked into it and said, "Hey this is a game like Risk."
