What makes you so sure? If people are deported without a trial, you're descending to the level of Stalinist Russia, or 1693 Massachusetts. If the unsupported word of an ICE agent, untested in court, is sufficient to get a man deported, why shouldn't the unsupported word of a police informant be sufficient to toss you in jail for life? If trials are a thing of the past, maybe we go straight to lynching. Your neighbour is jealous that your rosebushes are brighter than his, so he accuses you of being a pedophile, and next thing you know a vigilante committee is throwing a rope around your neck.jusplay4fun wrote:I do things to serve God, serve my fellow man, and have NO intention of doing things that will result in me beingdragged off to the cells
Lol, cute, but no. I have been arrested a few times, but I did avoid jail time on all those occassions. Luckily, our legal system was working as designed and I did have my day(s) in court.jusplay4fun wrote:Do you have any experience there, Duk?

Of course he later said he was just joking. A familiar refrain when people send up a trial balloon. "Don't get excited, it was only a joke!" Until it isn't.President Trump says his administration is actively exploring a proposal to detain U.S. citizens and send them to prisons in El Salvador. Speaking Monday, minutes before a press briefing alongside El Salvador's president, Nayib Bukele, Trump could be heard embracing the concept.
"The homegrowns are next, the homegrowns. You've got to build about five more places," Trump said to Bukele, an apparent reference to prison space that would be needed in El Salvador to house U.S. citizens.

Maybe you're a lawful citizen. Maybe you're not. If your accuser's word is sufficient, without any need of proof what does it matter? I accuse you of being an illegal, on go the handcuffs, on goes the hood, into the plane you go, and it's off to the jungles of Rwanda with you! Have fun screaming to the Delanymyinae that you're a born American citizen. You have rights, you know!

You may say that's an extreme view, but once you allow people to be labelled as "gang members" without any evidence or trial, you're only a few small steps away from letting people be labelled "drug dealers" without any evidence or trial, or "traitors" without any evidence or trial, or "paedophiles" without any evidence or trial.
The battle for due process has to be fought every step of the way. You've already lost the first battle, letting your country send suspects to Guantanamo without trial. Now, you're sending a much larger cohort to El Salvador's version of Guantanamo, and there's already talk of Rwanda being the next step. If you're not careful, you're going to lose this war very quickly, and have mass disappearances in the middle of the night.

It's never been about dems supporting MS-13, it's always been about Trump attacking the courts and the constitution.
will and should be met with all effort. Some efforts NOW are being litigated in the Courts by Democrats. If Trump WERE to cross the line against LEGAL US Citizens, I think that we will see a HUGE outcry, and that would not be limited to mostly Democrats. We have in place in the US a set of checks and balances. I have confidence that the Constitution and OUR system will keep Trump in check, as intended, IF NEEDED.suspend habeas corpus and ignore the constitution and the law

Five guards were injured in an apparent "premeditated" attack by inmates affiliated with the MS-13 and Sureño 13 gangs at a Virginia prison, state corrections officials said.
The attack occurred at about 9:45 a.m. on May 2 at the Wallens Ridge State Prison, a super-maximum security prison located in Big Stone Gap, a remote town in southwest Virginia, according to the state Department of Corrections. Five guards were injured in the incident, including three who were stabbed, and were transported for outside medical treatment. (...)
The agency described the incident as a "premeditated stabbing" targeting three corrections officers. Six of the inmates involved in the attack had all been convicted of violent crimes including aggravated murder, first and second degree murder, and rape, according to the agency.
The agency said five of the six inmates were "confirmed MS-13 gang members from El Salvador," who were in the United States unlawfully. The other inmate involved in the attack was a U.S. citizen and confirmed member of the Sureño 13 gang.
"Five of the individuals responsible for this senseless attack should never have been in this country in the first place," Virginia Department of Corrections Director Chad Dotson said in a statement. "Every single day, our officers put their lives on the line to ensure public safety for the more than 8.8 million people across the Commonwealth. This attack is an example of the dangers they face when they show up to work every day."

Just given then due process and send them to El Salvador.
Why are we keeping them in prison here? It costs more.. seems like Trump would do better sending these people back. At least this before worrying about many non-violent students and others that have no record. No?
You have an “open mind” JP?
OK… watch this and assess.

Incorrect, there are no democrats in congress who are against deporting illegal immigrants who are convicted criminals. Everyone agrees on this.SoN!c wrote: It's against democrats rights to deport criminals.

and in your opinion Trumps actions by firing tons of gov't workers would result in reduced government spending right? and we'd see that reflected by massively reduced gov't spending right? So, yes, FIRING workers does SAVE MONEY, in the short and LONG term, too.mookiemcgee wrote:and in your opinion Trumps actions by firing tons of gov't workers would result in reduced government spending right? and we'd see that reflected by massively reduced gov't spending right? I see and which liberal dems and judges exactly, specific to this case are on the record supporting these convicted criminals staying in the US?
In the article you sited doesn't name a single judge or democrat who is supporting keeping these specific prisoners in the US.
I'm sure you can name some though, since you made this claim that liberal judges and democrats are 'supporting' them.
The federal government announced two separate arrests Friday of a current judge and a former judge alleged to have assisted undocumented immigrants who authorities claim were violent criminals, moves that have raised red flags among Democrats and others.
Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested Friday by the FBI over allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant evade arrest last week. Her arrest took place hours after federal authorities arrested former New Mexico Judge Joel Cano and his wife Nancy Cano for allegedly housing a Venezuelan national with reported gang ties, Attorney General Pam Bondi said.
