in response to another query, here is a wikipedia link showing a map of chinese provinces including ningxia, the four municipalities and the position of aksai chin (which appears to be split administratively between xinjiang and tibet).

Are you planning to add Ningxia or not?

This map has been final forge for the longest time.

It should be. It needs very good and cautious polishing so it can reveal itself as magnificent and outstanding. Makes it even more enjoyable too. I don't know what made Wisse make a map of China, but I think it's good.

The moderators are too busy enforcing size constraints to quench maps at this time.

Quiet coleman.

Take your complaints about size restrictions to our desginated thread.
I believe wisse was going to do an update, so we are waiting for that.

I thought he was done with that and just defending his map against comments.

1.The great wall extends from the border between Liaoning and Hebei to the middle of Gansu. There is no Great Wall opening between Nei Mongol.
2.What happened to the four administrative cities(Chongqing, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Beijing), Ningxia, Hong Kong, and Macau? Hong Kong and Macau was returned to China before 2000.
3. The Yellow River never did meet Yangtze. It stretched over Ningxia and had it's mouth in Qinghai.
4.Kashmir is not a part of China anymore, but Aksai Chin is.
5.When you say that Kashmir can bombard but not conquer East Xizang, do you mean they can only attack it until it has 1 army left?
6.It's Guangdong, not Guangdon
Just some things to think about before you want to publish the China map.
Honibaz
1. that is for gameplay
2. what do you mean? i don't have cities anywhere
3. thats also for gameplay
4. dunno what aksai chin is if you could let it see on a map i can mayby do something about it
5. i mean it can kill it so it leaves 1 neutral army (its part of the new xml update)
6. ok i will change that
This, and I think perhaps one other thing wisse mentioned he would change. Whenever he's around, he can post the latest versions of the map, but until then, there isn't much we can do.

Okay Andy, thanks for clearing that up, I'm sure I wasn't the only person confused on the status of this one.

No problem, Coleman. Whenever maps have a more interupted production, it does make it a little more work to follow.

I think this might have been brought up a while ago but I still have a problem with the army circles
The one on the left (gray number) is the current circle. The number is not centered. I believe it is a pixel to tall and makes the number not centered.
The one on the right has a circle that allows the number to be centered.

sorry but its perfecty centered, when i zoom in i can count the pixels and it is good, the differense between yours and mine is that yours is a 22px army
and mine a 24px, check the tiny version for the 22px army

it's actually NOT centered. there's more space under the 88 than above it.
edit: also remember that

i will make a picture of it, and see if it is that way, i could have miscount those pixels

(making the picture right now)

ok here is it:
actually from left to right it is good centered and from down to up not
if i put in my army number it is always one to high or to low...
i don't know how to fix this, i have always have this problem with army shades and i thought i was finely rid of it
edit: i think i know something it could do the trick

but whats in this update:
-a self designed signature (because i saw cairns with his and i liked it)
-changed kashmir logo in the legend
-changed some names that weren't good
-changed "china" into "greater china"
-put the flag of taiwan in it
-changed army circles they are now finely
exactly in the middle

Most people know my stance on map signatures, as I view a map as a piece of art. I like to see signatures which flow and are unobtrusive. Signatures that blend into the background, or that are transparent, are ones that I prefer.
But in the end, it is your signature, and you can do it the way you like. (Though I might make it a little smaller, so it doesn't look so odd compared to the style and theme of the map.)
