Right, Incandenza. I think a couple of other cartographers may have willingly let a few other websites use their image, but indeed a couple of have been "stolen" or "slightly altered" kind of thing.

It may be difficult to do anything if they didn't directly copy and paste your exact image, unfortunately.

In the end, I gave up. They stole may italy map, but claimed he just used mine as a reference, and didn't copy anything - that was a joke. He ripped mine off totally. But he wasn't going to take it down. I didn't have the money, time or patience to pursue it, so I just bit my lip and tried to ignore it.

Hm, right. In the end, it just shows that Conquer Club has the best maps and the best cartographers around.

Just a heads up. you never want to send a C&D or correspsondance to the actual site own. The SGN admin would just wipe their ass with it. It's always better to send it to the sites webhost, as they are far more likely to force the owner to pull the image, especially if the C&D names the host as well.

SGN's host is http://www.apistechnologies.com

Call them, be forcefull, ask for a supervisor, tell them "I have been advised to take legal action if this issue is not resolved"

206-407-3806 (local)
800-603-7858 (toll free)

p.s. you can get free C&D's on the net, google it, fax it.

Mibi makes a good point on that.

Also, on a completely unrelated note:

I just joined and love the NYC map. Only thing that could make it more fun to play (IMHO) is to add Hudson County, NJ.

There is a mistake in this map. The A train does not go to Riverdale or any part of the Bronx; its last stop is Inwood-207 St in Manhattan.
