The other dead space is just light tan.

its no secret that i really like this map. But from experience in a game im currently playing:

http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=1645523

the texas bonus needs to be increased to +7

its currently in effect the same as oaklahoma as texas in reality is +6-3 = 3, oaklahoma is 5-2 = 3 sorry i never flagged this sooner but until it happened to me i never really thought of it

to reward anybody (insane enough) to go for texas it really needs to go from a +6 to a +7 making it a net +4

i know the -1s don't come into effect if you have only 1 man on the terrs but in reality most players would have additional men on these terrs to protect their bonus

I hear you rebelman, but I've played a few games where someone started in texas, built his army, took texas and kept it. Built the army and moved straight up. I think you have a valid point, but before a change in bonus is needed, lets wait for any other comments.

edit..
btw, I'm in that game link you posted ;) and I'm taking Oklahoma next round

i know you are (and I have been doomed since the start )thanks for the invite and i totally agree a change like i am suggesting should only happen if there is significant support (i could be the lone voice fighting the lone star fight :D )

You know nobody else mentioned this the entire thread. I'm not sure why, except that people probably expected a huge detail like that not to be wrong. Now it bothers me. I may want to "revamp" this map and take the water out.

Seriously... I call to the mods, can I revise the graphics and take out the water and instead fill with the tan sandy "dead" area?

I thought that it was...

I'm pretty sure that you're allowed to change anything you want - you can even revoke the right for it to be on the site?

Widowmakers did it with a bunch of his maps at one point. You should be able to just send the new image to lack.

Adjustments:

mbs wrote:the only thing i can see wrong with DUST BOWL is that there's no big body of water south of las cruces like what is depicted. it's just mexico down there...
Thank you mbs. I removed the water and just made Mexico a dead region (no offense to Mexicans)

Fantius wrote: The last sentence of the first paragraph on the map should read as follows:The area worst hit became known as the "Dust Bowl." Correct English is always nice.
Also, thanks & fixed on both maps. Originally it was "The worst hit area" now it's "The area worst hit".

Just trying to keep it separate since it's a different country.

ok good argument but i think it could be a bit lighter to fit more with the rest, and you already have a super thick border there to seperate countries

Fixed the mini-map as well.

I would prefer the Mexican dead area to be the darker shade.

mibi wrote:the blury thick border by the ocean mars this otherwise lovely map.
And while I'm revamping, Does anyone else have an issue with this southern border?

I don't know if it's too late, or if it's been covered already ( I haven't read all 35 pages of comments on this one), but I thought I'd bring this up.

If I own all of New Mexico, I get a +4 bonus. Since I also own some Dust Bowl cities, I get -1 for Clayton and -1 for Logan. Therefore owning New Mexico is good for a net +2?

This means the bonus chart nets out to:
New Mexico +2
Texas +3
Oklahoma +3
Kansas +2
Colorado +2
Nebraska +1

Just checking...

Yep...

Of course - if you only have 1 on the drought regions - you won't lose 1...

- although you will be easily broken!
