No you have the rugged singles players, that discover they aren't so rugged in that they only allow other players use certain tactics against them. Like people who enter into a water fight and then cry- Mommy Mommy, he used his super soaker against me...
Points to picture above.^^^

heh, fair enough. my point is if you enter into a water fight with me expect me to use every weapon at my disposal... if my aim is to win.

And he's a right bastard about it.
Well, actually, no, he's not. I hate to lose games, but I was outclassed in that game with KB, Spring, Tals, MeDeFe, and Qeee1.

Ah, I am a bastard about it. But I'd expect people to be the same to me, that is if they ever beat me.

i believe if you eliminate anounced alliances as part of every game, you are missing a huge area of specialty in this game
blindly clicking the little guys takes strategy, but manipulating the game through chat is an art form in itself...
mind you im not talking about two friends saying lets get the other guy...im talking about temporay ceasefires...unspoken unmanned borders...and in team doubles...having the other team hit the other team and not yours
using the chat to your advantage, and often your disadvantage is half the battle....
all part of the art...the "im going to use all my armies to kill the next guy who attacks me" is one of the only tools you sometimes have in a no cards game where you have no real chance...
i do understand people not wanting two people ganging up on you when you are up, but you have to accept that it will happen, so part of the game is to hold the best position, but not make it so obvious that they feel the need to treaty-itize before its too late
another example..how many people have lost because they tried to tell another player the best move...you annoy them...they kill you....or you annoy someone by attacking and killing their bonus and they avenge it....all part of the game, just like the chat and announced treaties
i actually dont initiate very many at all, but i have accepted temp ones, and have even let the other players teaming up that they are doing the right thing...though i usually have the game at that point
over use is cowardly, but so is refusing to accept them as a viable part of the game, not to say that there is anything wrong with playing games without them if set up that way...thats just a choice much like choosing freestyle or sequential...
as a footnote to the two people who have read this far....i play on another site where secret alliances are legal...i dont use them, but know they are a risk when i join, so i plan accordingly...mostly i stick to the 2 player or team games though...

Nearly a thousand games in 4 months on this site... and you play on another site too
Must be a really bad winter in New England...
surely there are stones somewhere that need to be laid,
just put on a heavy jacket, then "grin and bear it".
