Interestingly, the scores of our top 2 players have been dropping since the update. I think the answer to your poll is becoming clearer now.
In fact, King_Herpes is only just clinging onto his +5000 score.

Oh, and I was fast-posted by that naughty Changsha guy...

I think we always knew that great minds think alike. But who knew that military medium ones like ours could too?

Naturally I got in first because mine is a teensy, weensy bit greater!

The other side of this coin of course is that the score drop might only reflect a less points-oriented game selection..but then one might also say that the current game selection reflects that they can't keep making points as they once were..so have moved on to different styles.

I still think the jury is out on this one personally.

We could have a freemium conqueror. Back in the day I dreamed about that. Is there a silver star? I doubt it. :?

The star remains red and white.

kp got bored and starting playing games in which he has a 12.5% chance of winning, and most always will lose more points than he will gain by beating 5 opponents, even.

herps got bored a couple nights ago and played a few seq 1v1s, which are deadly to a score as high as his. He lost a couple hundred points from those games.

Actually can't say about df, haven't looked.

Yeah, I was getting the same feeling about herpes loosing interest. I think demonfork too. Having said that, Its hard to ignore the numbers, so I wonder if the rule did play any part. Thing is, from what I've heard thai robert plays casual freestyle mostly (haven't checked and don't feel like it), so that rule should hurt him more I would think. To be honest I didn't think the rule would do much at all, but now I'm not sure about that.

Nah KP Made Conquer ... once he did he started playing everything again. It is showing in his score. With that said he could keep his 5500+ score under these new rules if he so wished to do so. As for Thai Roberts, he is a farmer. He plays 8 man freestyle escalating casual. A game I also play. He joined one of my games and got mopped up by me. He would foe me right away after that. LOL He has foed others also. On the other hand MHennigan is the real deal and looks for the best to play. I see him making it before Thai Roberts does.

What the rule changed, was the small percentage of games that were lost conventionally... it was the safety device against the random player that happened to be winning...those few games make a bit of difference over time. It changes the win rate, but not drastically by any stretch. It does however make winning points with a stellar score more difficult, if you dont have that safety net. Its certainly still possible, but requires a slight variation to the overall strategy.
