What I mean is, let's say a game was scheduled for a Wednesday Afternoon, but got rained out and was played as a DH on a Thursday, are we playing the single game on Wednesday or the twinbill on Thursday.
It makes absolutely 0 difference in the grand scheme of things, I'm just curious.
The schedule as it turned out not as it was originally set before the season began. I used the schedules found on baseball-almanac.com, for example here is the Browns schedule:
http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teamsta ... 1949&t=SLAI used these because I have no idea how one would go about finding the full MLB schedule as it first was laid out. The only way I can think of would be to go to the library and piece it together from old newspapers on microfilm but that would incredibly time consuming, especially for a CC tournament. It seems there were also ties back in the day, presumably due to bad weather or darkness. Those games were dropped from the schedule I posted because they were completed at a later date. Whenever a final was recorded is when the game is played on this tournament's schedule. It's also clear the AL must've suffered much worse weather than the NL in '49 given the number of one gamers here and there on the schedule and that the AL has a bunch more doubleheaders than the NL.

Tsk tsk tsk... no dedication!

You'll notice a lot of those were from Sunday doubleheaders. Take for example the Browns and Yankees on Sunday August 7th, 1949. In Game one, the Yankees wallopped the Browns 20-2. The game took 2:49 minutes (according to
Baseball Reference.com). That was a long game for back in the day. The 2nd game was already 2:12 minutes long when it ended in a 2-2 tie. I bet it was a Sunday Blue laws thing in NYC. Something like "no merriment after 5pm on Sundays" or something like that.
Thanks for the info, and good job keeping all this up to date!

I know Conquer Club is all about good runs and bad, but wow. Cleveland, [player]WPBRJ[/player] just put a hurtin' on the ole Brownies. Lost 5 of 6 or 6 of 7, not sure. But probably knocked me into 5th place and in that time my CC rank has been knocked from Major to damned near Sergeant.
