I don't want to waste my time making a finished image if the plan isn't finalized yet.

Rather than bumping the thread you could have sent wca a PM on this... it would have gotten you the answer you desire more quickly, and you would come off as less annoying. ;)

Anyway, I want to point out that we have had a CC map in which everybody is rushing to the center (St. Patrick's Day), and the general consensus was that the gameplay was absolutely awful. Most of the games I played in were decided by luck - some were all but over by the middle of the second round. The beauty of Oasis is that by splitting the central objective into three territories it makes it considerably harder to capture, and easier to take out.

Thematically, I'd love to see you guys some up with more than just a bunch of craters. Seems to me that the crater theme was an afterthought that you chose just because craters are round and can be clustered together like your mock-up. You could just as easily have gone with such equally bad ideas as a game of marbles, a bowl of cheerios, or a fruit salad.. call it "Capture the Pear!" :lol:

Sorry about the delay, guys.
My parents are pretty much keeping me away from the Internet and Photoshop until I finish up all the school work I've been procrastinating on.

Should have something simple up later on in the week, after I get my work done...

Sorry about the delay.

Not sure if this is what you had in mind, but here's a crater.
I want to be sure you guys are ok with it before I go on and start adding territories and stuff.

Just a note, I can add 100 more pixels to the top and 40 more to the sides to fit the map instructions in.

now that is a good picture! :D :D :D :D :D :D

lets just add a sparkle of green to the center, and i think we will be prepared to move on..

hey, j, on the next draft, perhaps we could have artillery where all of the "bombard all" spaces are. maybe some snipers on the outside, and regular troops and jeeps where the regular territs will be!

I really like the idea. Some things that I would like to remark:

I really really think you should go for that crater image. It looks absolutely amazing to play on. The sparkles of green are O.K., but be sure they do add something instead of making it look like a fairy tale or, worse, an image which is very clearly edited. I don't know what the countries should look like yet, but I'm sure you'll find something. I wouldn't go for bubbles (like on the first drafts of that human body map) or the Canada-map-look, because they wouldn't fit in the idea.

Holding the center space for one turn makes winning too easy. One space for one turn... It doesn't get easier. Those 30 neutral armys won't change that. It should be more spaces. (Okay, I do see that you want everyone to rush to the center. But it would make the games too dependant on luck and too short in my opinion.)

well, if everybody starts on the outer ring, everybody basically has an equal chance...

plus, dont forget that holding the entire inner ring, the only thing that can capture the center. if you hold that, and then you attack, then you are in a bad position. if you leave a space open, the outer rings, the artillary, and the space you left open will desperatly try to get it back.

trust me, i think this will work, as long as we keep people from starting outside the outer ring...



the green sparkles were to just symbolize the conqueronium. we can change it to a picture of kryptonite or something :P

so, should we just not use bubbles for territs?

we'd have to test the colors out, but it would make it easier than going through the whole circle tutorial 8-)

as i was advertising on the live chat, i noticed a lot of people saying that there should be more than one thing you can capture...

perhaps we could have more than one objective, so you would have to be constantly on the lookout?

perhaps the entire outer ring, all of the artillary, or somthin else like that...
