lol w/ Gabon.
MY PERSONAL OPINION on the matter is that America has become watered down in some way. Back in the day most everyone had a gun, wanted to have a gun, and probably felt safer for it. But over time society as a whole has become more trusting, and safer... so we have given up our rights, and reasons for owning guns. But I still am all for anyone owning whatever gun they wish. Provided of course that person is not a nutso.
Unrelated but maybe notable,
My family has a decent military history, due to it's large size. And I being the history and "America Rules!" buff that I am, I always say hi & thanks to vets that I meet. Have you ever noticed (maybe it's me) how WWII vets and even Korean vets can talk about what they did with no problems and yet vets of more recent wars (Vietnam) don't ever want to talk about anything? I wonder if the American pride or toughness has been bred out of us. Or maybe it's just a result of being ashamed for fighting wars with no point? Maybe a difference in the effeciancy of killing, I dunno.

But I agree, you'll never get the guns. And it's the armed people who are the safest people.

Same here, but they keep order. I wan't them around, just not around me.

You wouldn't know or care, but we used to have a really good sherriff out here. He used to sit and drink coffee with us on Sunday mornings on his rounds. But the new (for like 8 years now) guy has slowly promoted an "us and them" mentality. It's not quite that bad, but that's the best way to put it I think. The only cops I have a problem with are the liars and the ones that are "just following orders." And the ones who never want to believe a goddamn thing that you are saying.
The deputy who testified against me in court lied to everyone with a straight face. He didn't even flinch. But I caught this stupid ass and the photos (administered as evidence) were right there for the judge to see. That deputy was so stupid. I don't know why he still has his badge. I would have thought that that is more serious of an offence for a cop to get than anything else. Other than bribary maybe.

This guy;

Seems to be able to think for himself. That's what we need for all of our officers. I don't know him, but he seems alright. He carries off duty, so that says something about his upbringing.

First time this has been done since the civil war, and nothing whatsoever was mentioned in our media. They were given seminars on urban warfare and equipped with such goodies as tireshredder strips, riot gas (much worse than tear gas), and lots and lots of bullets. Sounds like a good time for a gun ban.

The 3rd Combat Brigade. "Liberators of Fallujah." Seminars on Urban warfar? :lol: These guys fought the biggest urban batte to date in Iraq! And when you say airborne, we are talking Air Calvary... Air Combat....
And it hasn't happened since the Civil War because it is a violation of Federal Law, "Posse Commentatus." That's why we have police.

I was actually going to bring this up because it is completly related.
