The short answer is cuz ... on second thought id rather not get a PM on inappropriateposts
great work but i would make the highlighter a bit less bright
please pm with answers... because i think my penis is a muscle with the way it contracts and expands on a regular basis.
If that were true they would bulk up.
They are actually made of spongy absorbant tissue.

Sixth Update:
Lightened Highlighters by 40%
Lightened connecting lines and removed drop shadow (to improve clarity)
Added border to legend

great improvement! i like the reduced brightness u have taken along with the reduced opacity.
for gameplay i think ou should combine the blood system and the airway into one called "Cardio Vascular" because it seems that the airway is small and near useless

interesting map...if I'm trying to hold one body for one round (to win), do I need to hold love?

It is very small, but if i made it the same color as the Vessels, it would muddle the connections. It would not make sense for the Throat to connect directly to the Pectoral muscle or the Heart. By making it a lighter color, you can see that the Throat connects to the Lung, which then feeds into the Heart.
Joodoo wrote:if I'm trying to hold one body for one round (to win), do I need to hold love?
I
wasn't considering Love to be part of the body, but I do see how that would be confusing. Maybe I
should make it part of the gameplay objective?
Either way, I'll need to specify this in the Legend. Thoughts on how to do so? "Love is a shared territory"? "Conquer one body + Love..."?

another thing, you should make teh army circles he same color as the highlighted name, for ease of use.

Is this what you had in mind? I think it is too much color. I even toned down the highlighter colors another 20%, but its still looks like a clown made out of cotton candy.
I only did this for the man, so you can compare to the woman for reference...

yeah i like it, the man's said looks much better, now just another thing, try to move the names back and see if it makes it less cluttered, not a guarantee but worth a shot i guess

PS - thanks for your feedback, its nice to have someone offering real suggestions rather than just making penis jokes.

Penis

anyway, i mean move them so they are farther away from the actual human body.
like if you moved the rotators cuff and deltoids back a bit you could move the sternum closer to its actual spot
or move the brain throat and clavicle up and move the sternum below the clavicle so its closer to its spot. things like that. i am not 100% sure if they would necessarily make it look better (or even worse

) but i think its worth a shot.

visually this is coming out very nicely... the muscle/bone colors are a bit close, but that can be worked out later. And while I'd like to see it more playful-looking, that's just my opinion. The scientific approach is appropriate.
In terms of play I think this map will be a free-for-all. There are no places to hide, since everything can be attacked either by the brain or a muscle or a neighbor. As it is, there's really no reason to give bonuses for holding regions, because nobody will be able to hold one. A game on this map will depend 100% on the luck of the dice.
This is where I'd usually give some constructive feedback as to what would make the play better, but I don't have a lot of ideas on this one. I think the regions are way too big, and the one-way attacks across the body will make play way too open. I guess I'd start by limiting which regions the brain can attack - maybe just down along a central nervous system? And the muscle --> bone attacks seem problematic.

You could do a Berlin-syle build-a-bonus to make the regions smaller and easier to hold.

Check out the Berlin 1961 map. For example, there are 5 French territories. You get a bonus for holding 3 of them. Same with the other regions.

I like the design. You picked up a very nice idea but very difficult to translate. I'm anxious to play this one.
Cheers!

does it matter?!?! if you hold the body you have great bonuses which the others don't have (even if it 1on1, ones that hold the body will break the other body bonus, if both of them holding the whole bodies)...
I really think that the colored circles add a a lot... even if it makes it look a little bit fruity
oaktown wrote:And the muscle --> bone attacks seem problematic
I always had this little problem... any muscle can attack any bone.... like rotator cuff can attack tibia... doesn't really make sense to me

It's been said before, but the attack routes are really clustered; they need to be spread out more...
Maybe you could make both of them really obese so that they fill more of the page ??

This is the best human body map so far. I like where this is going.
You could probably make the attack lines skinnier. I don't see why they have to be colored... unless it's just about making the map accurate. But shrinking the lines would make it less cluttered.
Also, why not completely shade the circles instead of having rings?

instead of this you could just make more continents - perhyaps split the bones up into top half/bottom half, add some things like CNS, deigestive sytem conts. You could have subcontinents in the current contineents you allready have, but this could get complicated. Just another alternative to the 'hold x y's' bonus idea.
Overall i love this map, and havin seen so many human body maps fall through before, none as good as this - i hope this goes all the way
