(a) he's using Photoshop
(b) apparently, he used 'opacity' (?)
I agree whole-heartedly with you, lgoas

If he's using photoshop he's pretty much going to have to start over. As stands the map is too small (see http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=40463 for sizes/requirements on making a map.
I know you've put a lot of work into it thus far but if you're using photoshop you're going to lose quality (I would imagine at least, that you haven't changed the res off the default 76 or whatever it is). Therefore, starting over with the required sizes would help. Also, it would give you space for a title/key etc...
And opacity should make a layer less visible, not blurry like that. Unless there's some opacityesque filter thing I'm unsure of.

Hmm … well I (as well as Oaktown, gimil, rjbeals, and others I'm sure) use Photoshop and don't find the quality an issue at all. i usually use about 300p/i.
And I'm just as clueless as you are about the opacity thing. Makes no sense.

Photoshop itself has
nothing to do with the quality of that image.

I honestly want to know where the blur came from. I would assume it's him blowing up the image to make it larger. Otherwise I don't see why someone would intentionally do that to a map- it makes it look sloppy.

I would recommend some nautical ornament such as a compass rose.

i would also advize you that your one way borders should all look the same, and not be lop sided and crooked

Is this your latest version?

If so, then you've still got a lot of work to be getting on with... I know nothing about the geography/history the map refers to, and there is nothing there that helps me to identify with it... add that to the blurry feeling that makes me start to wonder where I've left my glasses, and you've lost my attention.
From a gameplay point of view, I think the map is too small to be of any significance. Is there any specific reason for the one-way borders?

The fact that you have boats throughout the whole map, may offend the people who do not sail (i am almost positive that there is at least 1 person you does not).

Most people there can either sail or pay people to sail for them.
My one ways were to compensate for the low number of territs. Also my newest version (coming out around Monday) will fix most of these problems or at least try and fix them.

i can also see that you copied the pics of the sailboats, cus there is a rectangle around them, i would advise getting rid of that detail, and i don't get what the dots next to the boats

The dot tells you which boat it is and I have already gotten rid of squares in my newest version thanks!
