Now you are talking about paying them off?

hahaha

And for calling others loud and annoying, you apparently don't think or proofread what you type... Maybe you should give that a try, so you don't look like an even bigger dumbass...

Poor building of event arenas. The prestige given to a blatant human rights violator. There are good reasons without even going to the "CHEATER!" cry, true though it may be. Are you serious or sarcastic? I mean, the content suggests that you're heavily sarcastic, but you sound so serious...

I particularly like the part where "using computer generated fireworks" is ground for China not hosting the olympics. 15,000 people practice their Choreography for a year to make the opening ceremony special, but generate a few bangers and you're muck :P

Actually, I was being both ironic and serious in an attempt to point out that speculations about cheating judges are really unnecessary. If you're looking for a reason to forbid China from hosting the Olympics, there are other, more proveable items. And if you're looking for that reason, you'll find it no matter how tiny and unimportant that reason might actually be. ;)

A country that fails in so many way with human rights ,Tibet, pollution and so many things that would be too long to name shouldnt have the right to host such an (used to be anyways) honorable event as the Olympics.
They proved it already with lies about the freedom of the media + that lipsynch incident. Maybe more, I dont quite follow these olympics.

But hey, money talks.

I don't think judges cheat but I would bet that they're swayed by the Chinese crowds, there have clearly been some wildly inaccurate scores I've seen.

The host country always seems to get favourable decisions so the Chinese bias is following a familiar pattern. Im told that the current gymnastic decisions are nothing compared to the blatant rigging that saw American boxers win everything in Atlanta, apparently some of the decisions were so obviously incorrect ( and the scale of disgust so high ) that the scoring system was changed afterwards to make it less easy to manipulate fights in the future.
As for the Brits....Amazing performance 8-)

So do you think that when the World saw the USA cheat at the Atlanta games it decided it couldnt be trusted anymore, was that when it all started to fall apart 8-)

The minimum age for gymnasts is 16, but there is a lot of speculation that a few of the Chinese female gymnasts are younger (for god's sake, one of them still has her baby teeth).

Beyond that, considering as the judging is from a international panel, not just chinese, it's kind of hard to say that they're cheating. However, I feel that they really are using these Olympics to show off their nation, which is kind of outside of the spirit of the Olympics...I cite the entire opening ceremony

LOL, what a lamebrained statement...To expect the chinese not to have some solid atheletes is idiotic...much like the eastern block countries of the 80's and before, the chinese raise athletes from childhood...Sure, some upper class western civilization nations send thier kids to special schools or through programs to train for Olympic types of events but in China it is considered a contribution to the state...

kerntheconkerer wrote:That China can only win the events with judges?!?!? They suck at swimming, volleyball, rowing, basketball, etc etc.
The always win with the judges though. Diving, gynastics. Who else has seen the bitter rigggieness of the gynastics. Its so obvious. the Chinese girls are so not good enough and that one girl that looks like she's 10 (no older than 12)
The olympics should never be in China ever again!!! who agrees?

This thread is meant to be sarcasm? yes?

Saber points are awarded through electronic strike pads on the participants suits! and furthermore the chinese were not in any medal rounds. 2 Americans played each other for Gold/Silver!

Who cares about the age of the Gymnasts, if they were 8 years old and beat the crap out of all the others to get there, let them compete. From what i've seen Boxing is the event most screwed up but thats always been the case, during the Olympics or otherwise.

still i get it Dreamie, you are one funny chick! ROFLOL
Please set us straight and come clean that you were being sarcastic.

Anarkistsdream wrote:The Chinese judge gave three medals to America in Women's Saber...

Also, there is an Olympic Panel comprised of several of the larger countries that, if this were in the slightest true, would crack down and kick some ass.

So, in the end, you are wrong...

As long as the gymnast turns 16 within 2008 it is legal under the rules of the Olympic committee.

why is the USA doing so badly ? well because all their best athletes are banned for being drug cheats.

the only thing keeping the US ahead of the UK are the shooting medals .... Charlton Heston finally came in handy. ;)

2 United States (USA) 26 26 27 79
3 Great Britain (GBR) 16 9 8 33

The US only has 2 shooting gold medals. If you take those away, that's an 8-gold lead on the UK. Sounds like the same number of medals for a certain swimmer I know of...

Phelps isn't a "doper". He's a genetic experiment created by the U.S. Navy to plant bombs on enemy harbors. Of course, eventually we came to realize that we really needed him for the U.S. Olympic swimming team.
