death, f*ck it man. i know enough about pain that the worst pain is the kind you haven't experienced before. but the endorphins all fire the same way. so don't anticipate it, just take it. let the pain focus the mind to that trancendental place. death will be the same way. no matter how painful, it's all gonna end the same way.

and clowns? no, not really. never got creeped out by dudes in makeup until i went to manhattan.

Not true!

Like I said, makes no sense, but delivered confidently. I have a whole calendar of Bushisms, they're a great thing to wake up to.

Spiders, I don't like any kind of spider. If I see one at night before I go to bed I will not sleep there, or I stay awake for hours. Even after my hubby kills the spider for me I can't sleep. My brothers use to scare the crap out of me when I was little girl with those black hairy ones that kinda look like a black widow. Oh jeez, I got the heebies jeebies just talking about those damn things.
I am not really afraid of snakes or anything like that.
My brothers use to throw a Bull snake in the shower with me. That didn't bother me, but put a spider in there with me and I would come out screaming. :(

Little bugs
Drowning (i can swim very well so that's fine)

And Children getting hurt (i know it's not a phobia but i just feel like crying when i see a child get badly hurt especially babies and toddlers, not so much teenagers, it was common but i always would start crying when i was in the army and i had to shoot underage kids that were being used as soldiers, i'm not going to go into how bad that was) shooting a adult was ok though.

i'm sorry you had to do that. that's just horrible, even though i'm sure it was necessary.

Sleep, and unconciousness in general.

It sucks because I have to go through it again and again every 12-ish hours.

never really thought of this before but it is my biggest fear. i do not believe in god of any kind, i believe when youdie there is nothingness it just goes back to what it was like before you were born remember that? didnt think so...

but then again isnt heaven (or hell) just as scary i mean living forever and ever and ever, can you think of what to do in the next billion trillion years? and what about the billion trillion years after them? that pretty scary to me but it doesnt give my the same deep down pit of my stomach fear that nothingness after life does.

This used to be my phobia, maybe a little still.

It's funny, only when I learned what they were did I get used to them. It's still a small shock when I find one due to their lightning speeds sometimes...

Next to burning (if that counts), it is one of the worst and most "painful" ways nature can kill you. I don't know if you've ever experienced near-asphyxiation, but it is quite painful. One of the worst sensations in water, is, of course, not breathing. Your body does not let you breathe until it makes an involuntary one, after which you live for several more seconds breathing in water. The effects might be different in colder water; people have been known to be under for a few hours in freezing water and still live because, in a way, it "preserves" you. It is also scary that, if you cannot swim or are immobilized in some way, you know there is no escape when you are drowning unless someone else comes in. It probably touches on claustrophobia in this way. Basically, you feel overwhelmed. And powerless, losing to a technically untangible force.
I have almost drowned once.
This might be why waterboarding/water cure is the preferred method of torture besides the fact that it leaves no evidence.

Yeah, I have almost drowned once too. It feels like you can't do anything about it. Because breathing is instinct, when it doesn't happen it scares the shit out of you.

I disagree. I have no personal experience in the matter, but I would think that having a large tree fall on your legs/lower torso and pin you to the ground as you slowly die of internal damage (if you're lucky, if you're unlucky and nothing inside you gets damaged, then you get to starve to death)

Yes but if you're trapped under a tree, you can think about it, make a plan, maybe even accept it. Being trapped underwater leaves you in shock and panic; you can't think and the more you panic the less you can hold your breath.
