Once you get a crit mass at each level, it inevitably moves up as it becomes easier for players at that level to get points: the more 2k players, the less 3k players risk in games against them and the more points they can win from them. If there are lots of 2k players then there are lots more people for 3k players to challenge and the points come in from a different pool rather than being shared around the 3k pool only.
That bubble will keep moving through to the 3ks, promise
and that brings us full circle:
Well done to everyone joining the higher ranks, well earned
eventually, yes, I agree twill, but this is going to take some time and we will need to see the 2500 score range inflation rise quite a bit, then 2800, then 3K, as more players log in over time, I agree these scores will all become easier to obtain, also showing in some ways it was more difficult back in the day, when only a total of 10 players or a handful higher than 2K score.

Earlier this month I set a goal to reach 2000+ and hopefully keep it that way. Luckily I made it and I'm buzzing around 2200 points for the last week or so.
However now I discover this thread and it seems like y'all are raining on my parade (and the parades of all the other fresh captains). I vote to move this thread to Flame Wars so the new and upcoming CC generation can give you a verbal whipping as well as an ingame spanking.

The Corrupt Dictatorship we have here right now works just fine.
As long as we keep sending the Grand Master Turtle Lackattack $20 annually, he seems to keep working at making us happy with new updates, the correct and fair amount of discipline, and just a great atmosphere in general.....
In addition to the $20, he seems to enjoy a certain amount of praise and flattery.... its all part of the corrupt system, but I cant afford any worse dice than I already get, so Im going to play along

i dont see whats the problem with the rising number of 2000+ players. the amount of players conquer club has rises too. So its just fair that there are more of those 2000+ players (including me
).
Another reason (and justified) is that more people finally climb to the point range that resembles their real strength in the game. It takes a while to crawl up from those low 1000s when in reality you're a pro at the game. Esspecially those without a premium account take a while to get their points up with only being able to play 4 games at a time and no speed games.
Conclusion is that we dont have a point inflation in conquer club but a mere point correction to a state in which the points you have resemble your playing strength, which is the goal of the point system if Im not completely off track on that one. So lets embrace it an have fun rising in ranks. I for sure will continue to do so

Don;t tell me when you scan through the open games you don't salivate at a pair of crowns waiting to have 100 points taken each

Twill I cant argue with your logic but in practice an awful lot of players hit the wall between 2000-2500 points, the increasing percentage of Captains is nowhere close to being matched by a subsequent percentage increase above that rank.
Im a TOFU miSfit

No point inflation is definitely happening. There's no problem with more 2000+ players but it takes less skill to get there than it used to. I think the scoreboard places are probably more relevant in judging ability

"Hit the wall indeed". I can't for the life of me attain 2500. I try and try. I made it to 2340 and the brakes came on. The initial goal was 2000 points or colonel under the old point system. This was always a challenge. Now that I am there, it is easy to maintain yet hard to proceed. Maybe I'm a destined captain; no more, no less.

Yeah, I was a Major with ~1900 points under the old scale.
Under the new scale I got as high as 2448 before losing again.
I hope to join the 2500 club soon...
Edit: 386 players 2000 points and over as of this post. We are slipping a little.

keep trying and you will, select your games and opponents carefully and 2500 will seem an easy target.
it's all a matter of what you play and who you play it against.
i played a lot of 1v1 vs low ranks and despite a whopping 80% win percentage my profit was just 30 points after 60 games.
i changed opponents made games private and played versus captains and major and i quickly made a few hundred points. even if i had a lower win% (tougher opponents). if i keep doing this i reckon 2500 should be attainable with ease but since i don't care about points that much i still play public games that are filled with new recruits cadets and cooks and losing 40-60 points to one of them means i have to beat 3 captains to get back on track. the further you go up the ladder the harder it gets if you play low ranks, especially on terminator where they target you instantly.

AAFitz wrote:scamming is completely the wrong word...
every definition of scamming includes deception
there was no deception.. they opened a game, they played a game...
you can call it many things but not a scam.. unless you can explain how there was deception....which of course you cant...the players didnt have to join... they could have played, and they could have won, as they sometimes did
you can call it many other things, and dont have to agree with playing of those games...but by definition it was in no way a scam.... no deception took place... if you join a game with high ranked players, you should expect to lose... at least quite a bit...
its semantics, but its important... I do agree, that its better the way it is now, because it more truly reflects a teams score, because most of the teams... most.... play their moves now
OK you can call it how you see it and I will call it what it is.
When you get 2 of your buddies to join your team game in the PUBLIC section you are playing a PUBLIC game as an organized TEAM.
Now a new recruit comes along and sees an option to join a team game. He has no idea this game was actually set up and all the players play with each other frequently and went to the extent to organize the teams. This new recruit looks at the game and sees anybody can join at any time. He does not yet realize no other high ranked player is going to join his team especially considering they already know the deal.
It's promoting an organized team as a public game with random people joining. You can argue it any way you please, but new recruits have no idea what's going on when they first join and therefor they got scammed/taken advantage of.
