i dont think you should leave but i do agree with the fact that he didnt warn us of the update i think you should try to deal with the couple game that you have that you dont like and then dont play that type of game i think we all feel that way to an extent but we must deal with it for the time being

BLAH!

BLAH BLAH BLAH........I think he has gotten the point that the update was handled in the wrong fashion.....and that will obviously be a point for the next update, and the next, and the next.......see that is what an update does, improves or fixes aspects of the game. If someone is upset with the way the site is being run, by all means, put in your 2 cents. but ultimately it is left up to the creator and if you don't like it, create your own. I love this site, and appreciate all the work that lack puts in on this site. I look forward to many more updates, perhaps with some warning next time since we learned from the last one. and that is my 2 cents

GO DAWGS!!!!!!

Just want to point out to everyone what (I think) was said in the announcements thread on this stuff - this is not Lack's day job, and it seems to me like he might spend a lot less time on this site than many people would imagine. Programming/updates take time, and he can't guarantee a schedule for when something will definitely be available, and if he holds off on implementing a new update until a specified date, it's very cumbersome for his personal schedule. So one week's notice or whatever is not a simple matter of keeping a cake in the freezer for a week before your birthday. The week's notice itself, and the structure it would demand of Lack, would likely result in him being able to update/add stuff at maybe 1/2 or 1/3 the pace he does now because if he finds himself with 6 spare hours here or there, he wouldn't be able to use them to do updates if they're not scheduled for release. I think to slow down the pace like that would really suck.

I sympathize with people whose games may have been a little mucked up by the transition, but I, for one, am far more willing to pay the price of having a game's rules change a little bit mid-stream than I am to wait 4 more months for the Ireland map to come up...

My point is just that there's more wrapped up in one week's notice than a notifying post here or there.

Many thanks to all guys wanting me here. Im happy because I did many friends here. I had a good feedback from people by pm, too. Thanks to all.

I still didnt decide about if I will really quit or not. I probably will, maybe only for a while, but I feel I need less risk in my life.

And guys that only know to say "hail lack!", still will have the day to say other things. This site is now much different from the site I joined in February... better in some things, worse in others. Lack is doing great, for sure. The problem is with some users, I believe. CC would be a horrendous monster if he accepts all suggestions. Of course, he will not accept all, but lets see what this site will be in 2 years, and if you all will still like it as today.

That sounds wise, Marv. Moderation in all things, and all that.

Marv, I have to say that I was sort of frustrated at first about how the unexpected changes were affecting my games. But after reading your post, I can't say that I'm all that worried about it. Let me explain.
You may have noticed that Pilate wasn't complaining and moaning. As far as I know, he has the most reason to do exactly that: the sudden game changes meant that he, as the player currently ranked 5th on the scoreboard, was knocked out of the game by me... a New Recruit, ranking somewhere in the mid-2200s. Think about it for a minute.
Frankly, if he's not complaining about how the sudden changes messed up his game... I don't see where any of the rest of us have room to complain.

This sounds like, "dont question your government they think they are doing whats best for you"

thats the worst logic ever. Drinking the koolaid basically.

I dunno, I'm pretty pleased with the new updates. The terminator game type and the chain fortifying especially, though the team one doesn't really effect me since I don't play teams.

Isn't it possible 2 have both team game options? A sequential (the old way) team game or a alternate (current way) team game?
