can you please explain to me what exactly was dishonorable about that game?

I don't think that what Ereandil means is dishonorable. I can't say for sure but he just feels it is a cheap victory as from the first move they only had two men. And I would have to agree it is a cheap win as they didn't even get an attempt to counter anything.

It wouldn't have been cheap if they got their turn and then set up a takeout, but since they didn't it would feel like a cheap win, to me at least and I am sure others, because there wasn't even a chance for the other team. It was a good move on your teams part but still to the defeated team the game wasn't too much of a game starting out down a man.

I don't imagine you would join too many games if they were set up with 3 players vs 2. I wouldn't unless I was up for a huge challenge, but I am sure the 3 player team would win almost all, if not all the games.

And it is like you said or Alster said if Ereandil's team got to go first they could have taken one of your team down too. Luck of the start.

What you did is within the rules and a great move because it took you to victory, but maybe that says something for the rules or maybe the setup of team games. Maybe we should have a staggered start in team games for the first round, so each team at least has a chance to counter.

Just a thought and Ereandil may say I am completely wrong, as I may be, but myself if I won that game I wouldn't consider it a great victory, I would consider it a victory, but not one of those ones that make me feel like I actually accomplished something.

That's my 2 cents.

I think its great how you guys can criticize us for getting our ranks by stealing points from newbs and uncoordinated teams, and then when we do beat a very good team it has to be because of luck, or because we played cheap. Can we ever win a game and have it be recognized as skill?

I wasn't criticizing your play, I said it was a great move and a smart one; what I was trying to say was that it was cheap

my CC def'n of cheap - easy win without too much difficultly; never a real threat of loss.

I was just saying it wasn't a hard faught battle that makes you feel like you worked hard to get it and where you aren't sure you are going to win for most of the game.

In your teammates game against us that will be a better win as we had the chance to at least counter attack and have a chance to be in the game.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say. It was a good win and well within the rules and a very smart play and great teamwork, but for me at least it wouldn't feel like a great hard faught victory.

I think staggered starts for team games would be nice, because although it worked for us this time it often works against us. I understand what your saying bretzky.

Ereandi: She is just one member and is not representative of the entire group. She's an individual who plays well here, and maybe has just felt some of the power of the Dark Side.

Staggered turns is something I had thought about the very first time I played a team game here. Perhaps it should be posed in the Suggestion/Bugs Forum?

Ak's Team did a great job using their first turn. AllStar and Company had a similarly great first move in a game I am in. You can't fault a team for doing that type move, but it is obvious what great advantage it is of having all three partners go first in a triples game.

i will never deny the advantage of going first in teams game...no one can.. the staggered turns would make an intresting option to start games with..

douchebaggery.....

Hey Ereandil, as far as I know Cahoots' gameplay has always been above reproach. Likewise, I have as yet to hear her calling people names after losing a game.

Granted, theres some kind of good vs. evil subplot going on here, but you lessen yourself by casting aspersions, and simply, calling people names, who happen not to agree with you.

Is this how douchebaggery starts? Alstergreen drags in Highborn, who drags in cahoots, who drags in Scarus, et. al.....lol

Bretzkey summed it up pretty well. Thanks.

Hey Scarus,

I used the term "Miss Groupie" because of her self proclaimed support of the birds, not because I lost a game. I don't know too much about xi games. I just know a bit from the posts I have read. What I seem to understand is it is based of a value system, honor often mentioned. I think that that the accumaltive play is "dishonorable" with this group. I have gone after their play on my own not personal attacks, (If you read my posts I have tried to keep them humorus, because I actually liked some of the birds and though they were better than this.). But then I see posts popping up telling me I am "childish" telling others they are "lame" and "pathetic" defending this play. I don't really care that is fine with me (other than they didn't make too much sense and were off point). She is enttilted to defend (edit: dishonorable) play just like am I oppossed to it, but when I see something like "be cool join xi games" on the bottom of them it
made me go hmmmm....

Lastly, I would say that no one was drug into this without coming willingly with their own douchbag. The douchbaggery was the game play.

Good to have you onboard Jaydog! I'm sure that you will put the fear of God into our enemies!

Also, Jay here can cover a tad bit for me. I haven't been around much since before the 4th of July. I'm on vacation and have hit the road. I've missed a couple of rounds here and there on my game list. I apologize for that, but it cannot be helped. Any promised challenges will (unfortunately) have to wait a while. Right now I just want to clear out my game list.

Skål kosmonauter!

EDIT: Well, with the Middle Earth map out, I couldn't help myself. Had to set up some of those. Been waiting for so long. So I entered the monkey games as well since I apparently couldn't keep my hands of CC... *sigh* Annonymous CC anyone? Guys, I'll do my best to check in on the games, especially the monkey games.

wait have the bushwackers lost a challenge..

I think not..

and have they used their "dishonorable tactics"?

I think not...

Does that mean they are all around good...

I think so..

you forgot to include,
Have the bushwackers played newbs or deadbeats to win these games?
I think not.
With the exception of Scorba who counted as a deadbeat because he didnt get a chance to play.
