Defending champ Kansas City returns to the top of the West with a league-best 11 wins.

Sent out MatchDay 17 tonight...that marks the halfway point of the regular season.

Sent out Game 19s and hoping to get a scoreboard update posted late tonight.

Then I'm off to Disneyland for a week, so stay busy while I'm out and I'll get caught up on updates and new matches when I return

We've got a tight race for the Supporter's Shield with a handful of teams in contention.

Meanwhile a 4-match losing streak has my Timbers in a free fall in the West ... yikes!!!

The West has two playoff clinchers already with Kansas City and Houston guaranteed of a spot.

Four more spots filled...San Diego and Minnesota have clinched in the West, while Atlanta and Philadelphia have secured spots in the East.

That leaves four spots up for grabs

Hey everyone...there are still a few matches to go final in the regular season, but nothing that affects the playoff bracket.

So we are active with first-round matchups. Note: Only the first round is a best-of-three series...after that the playoffs go to single elimination games.

Also, a reminder of overtime rules for the playoffs (No ties in the postseason). So basically, if a match is tied, an additional map will be sent out until a winning goal is scored.

Bracket updated ... One match still active in the first round with DC United and Philadelphia fighting to advance. Otherwise all of the higher seeds have advanced into the quarterfinals. A heavy-favorite bracket.

#5 seed Philadelphia pulls off the only upset of the first round with a 5-4 overtime win at DC United.

Congrats to nadin as the Houston Dynamo knocked off defending champion and this year's Supporter's Shield winner Kansas City to emerge out of the West for a spot in the MLS title game.

MLS Cup will be hosted by New England if they advance out of the East OR by Houston if Philly emerges from the East.
