My second comment was:
I am sure your team is quite good on those settings. However, there was no skill involved in our game when you take out 3 of us in round 1. Positional drop and going first is all that was needed.

Specifically referring to our game.

Positional drop and going first is all that was needed.

And Skill

I guess you meant that there was no skill involved in TOFU's play b/c with an advantageous start and the necessary skill, FOED was able to win before there was anything TOFU could do?

Are you fishing for compliments? I have already states that your team is quite good on those settings. Further, I acknowledged your strong advantage over those not familiar with that map and finally I stated you play that map better than we do.
Does not ALL of that imply your skill?
Let me try again.... OMG, you guys are awesome on that map with those settings. I have never seen such brilliant and tactically astute play in all my years on CC. They should change the name of the map to FOED's House.
I feel honored that I even got to play against such an all star team, thank you...

Yes, that's all I wanted. Shower me. Thank you.

lol. But seriously, was just trying to clarify. Your earlier comments can be read as insulting or dismissing if the implications are not correctly understood. Which is what Fyr basically alluded to.

Again, of course on that game drop and 1st turn are significant. And when an elite team on that map gets advantageous drop, there is often nothing the other side can do.
However, an elite team can also overcome a bad drop, even vs another high level team if played just slightly better.
I also will not comment if there was something your side could have done in this game. ;)

 , ok. I predicted your entire play in our game chat. We had no effective block once you had that absurd stack after 2 turns and nothing we could have done to prevent it.

Sure, this one was easy. So if you are specifically referring to this game in your assessment that skill didn’t matter, I could buy it.

But that’s not what your original comment sounded like to me.

My original comment only said it was a strange map/settings combination that allowed for 3 players to be taken out in the first round. Also stated that going first was a big advantage. Where did I say anything about skill or the lack thereof?

Specifically referring to our game.

I will add: against people not familiar with that map or unlimited forts, you should have a strong advantage. While you may play that map better than our team, I do not believe it would be by any significant level. That map requires time and a little game theory to run the multitude of scenarios to determine best probable outcomes. For those reasons, I like it as I enjoy that side of the game. However, I believe that playing it with unlimited forts steals some of the tactical nuances that otherwise would be there. With your setting it is blitz or be blitzed.

Fair enough. It appears I misread your initial comment specifying to our game. You are quite right about “blitz or be blitzed”

When I first teamed with Joe, he told me; "I have come here to eat flies and kick ass. And I'm all out of flies."

Been terrified ever since!

Though over past few days a lot of close games have been moving TOFU...
Few days ago I might of said 16-12, but now it's prob moved to 14-14 or could move to the TOFU side for R1 if things stay the way they have been.

This is about the same as my assessment...could easily slip back to us being down four though. Doesn’t feel like a blowout.

Not thus far, been some good games for the ones I’ve been in.

Batch 2 definitely going to be what decides this outcome.

MP has been on break/retired. I don't exactly recall when this happened, but it must have been 2 years already.

I'd say that in decided games we're at 12-11 FOED.
But headed close to 14-14 set 1, with 15-13 TOFU more likely than 15-13 FOED.

All round 2 games got started up this past weekend.
Hoping for a fun finish!!

Looking very close when counting advantages across the board. Predictions anyone?

I have it about even...I had us ahead four going into the weekend but we can't roll and we lost leads in two games on over 50% rolls. I have nine games being even though....very close.

After looking again FOED may be ahead by 1.

Still damn close to even, but Maybe slight advantage to the TOFU side.
We need to buckle down and have some good turns.
