Phase 3 Terminators are done. Phase 3 P.A.T.s coming real soon.

I updated the scoreboard, and in the process found some mistakes. Amazing that nobody looked to see their score and spotted them. Don't ever assume the T.O. is omniscient. We DO make mistakes, far more often than most people realize. Anyway, all mistakes have now been corrected (I think!)

This is an elimination phase, so we put six more people out of their misery. Actorday, chidone, dhallmeyer, metsfanmax, and patches70 are relieved of duty. In Patton's words, “All good things must come to an end --- Goodbye and God bless you.”

The sixth elimination is a little more tricky. At the bottom of the survivor's list, we have celliottii and CatchersMitt14, tied not only in score but in the first three tiebreaking criteria -- Terminator wins, Standard wins, and kills. We have to go to the fourth tiebreak -- precedence -- to declare that CM14 lives to fight another day and celliottii goes to his eternal reward.

The 18 surviving players can expect the next Terminator round to begin imminently. I'm hoping later today, but tomorrow at the latest.

I started thinking about this current phase, where all three Terminator games were won by map conditions and one or more players remained unterminated. Until now my intention was to only give P.A.T. games when an actual termination occurs. It makes sense that the terminators should get benefit only for players they actually kill, not for players who are still alive at the end. However, the P.A.T. is not just an opportunity for the terminator to score a point; it's also an important opportunity for the terminatee to get something out of the round. Logically, it does not make sense that players should be penalized for not getting killed.

Therefore, new rule. If a player remains unterminated at the end of a Terminator game, the winner of that game will still play a P.A.T. game against him.

The player who failed to make the kill still suffers a small penalty, because he doesn't get the two points for the kill in the Terminator game. The other player still gets a chance to score 2 points in the P.A.T. game and come out of the Phase with some kind of score.
