I don't agree that I'm wasting people's time. It is your choice to read, respond, and ignore. Your decision to engage or not is your own.

You are, of course, right that I have a purpose. That kind of goes with the territory of starting a thread though.

I'm inviting you to take part in the thread devoid of ad homs, if you're willing.

In USA you wear a thong over your genitals, in Australia you wear a thong also, but on you foot.
In USA a fanny is your bum, in Australia it is female genatalia

These are issues we deal with every day in the moderation team.. What it means to 1 country, religion, culture does not apply to all.

We have to draw a line in the sand somewhere.. tolerance is what is needed for us to move forward.

The line in the sand tends to be drawn pretty starkly. How many openly gay mods do you currently "tolerate"?

I don't think you are wasting people's time if it's just an issue you want to discuss. But it seems like you want to shame our mods because they won't ban everyone that says something offensive to you.

Not at all, I've not asked for a ban on anyone for homophobic remarks directed against me. As for shaming, I think that a bit of shame for banning people who use the word "gay" helped change the rules.

I'd certainly like CC to be more welcoming of lgbt players though.

Since you're not referencing any homophobic remarks directed towards you by someone that was aware of your sexual preference, I'm a little confused as to what your end game here is, other than to stir up some dust. If I have bad dice and call someone a motherfucker, unless I know they actually fucked their mother and I'm saying that to shame them, I'm just throwing around a curse word to express frustration. We are playing a game, so many people will revert to middle school behavior.

I have to go back to the fact that you have played 71 games here. You know there is a thing called youtube. If you are looking for a fight, I'm sure you can click on any video with over 10k views and find someone saying something bad about black ppl, jews, syrian refugees, muslims, or anyone in the lgbt community. Take them on and good luck.

Who gives a fuck how many games he's played?? TGD already stated that the COMMUNITY aspect of this site lies in the forums much moreso than in the games. Sym has always been a forum participant (when he's been allowed to be). I haven't played a game on this site for over a year - am I no longer part of this community???

Bollocks in 2015.

It's genuinely awesome that people who I can and have gotten into blazing arguments with are willing to stand up for me being part of the community.

It's a stronger argument for CC becoming more inclusive and accepting than anything else.

I have no personal grudge with you. It's the internet.

I've never thought you have. A principled stance in favour of someone you disagree with is definitely a positive that should be acknowledged.

Thanks

I used to contribute to the suggestions forum and the cheating and abuse forum. I was, believe it or not, asked to be a mod.

If you wonder how I got a bit jaded, but still am interested in new people being welcome, being banned for using the word "gay" did push me to try to advocate change

I'm not sure if the site has become more welcoming or not. I can only ask if it seems better, worse, the same, or kittens.

please... tell us more... i have not heard this story over a thousand times... and if by "advocate change", you mean, "spam up the forums with the same issue," you are doing a stellar job... the black jesus has spoken...-Jésus noir

If by spam, you mean two threads on the topic in separate forums over the course of a year, I don't agree. Your hostility to the discussion is bizarre.

by spam i mean 4 threads in 4 separate places within the forums, when you made your glorious "happy" return (GD, a Suggs bump, a C&A bump and Off Topics)... there is no hostility, your abuse of and spamming of the forums is just tiresome, when it is the same subject. even better, someone asked you to post the rule and it has yet to occur... zzzzz... the black jesus is tired of your endless rant about things that are non-issues...-Jésus noir

I don't know what you mean Owen, I put in a thread asking for the rule to be changed regarding bans for using the word "gay", and the rule changed. I can't dig up the old rule, if that's what you're asking.

now you're talking! i like when you post fun stuff! but seriously, you spammed the forum with new threads and bumped threads... then seem shocked that nobody wanted to discuss a topic that you always want to discuss... if you got the rule change, then why are you beating a dead horse? now, if something new happened, i am more than interested to hear about it... but it hasn't... it is the same story that was already resolved... sooooo, every time i see you bump a thread or post the same shit in a thread, i see this:

Owen, I can talk to you if you want, but your premise is that any form of discussion is equivalent to spam.

YouTube vids aren't really a good substitute for things you want to avoid talking about

yes, yes... i finally see your point... i am now coming around to your point of view...

and no, my point is not that any form of discussion is spam. my point is that you bumped multiple threads on the same topic within multiple sections of the forum and then posted multiple DUPLICATE threads on the same subject. that, is spam. pick one spot and have a discussion there. don't spam across the forum, about the same topic. it is actually against the rules to post multiple/duplicate threads on the same topic. you are just lucky that the jr. mints are lazy and rarely combine/move/lock threads, as of late... your attempt at placing some sort of non-existent meaning into my very clear words, is simply laughable... we all get it... we have all read one or two or three of your threads. where do you want to have the discussion? suggestions? the gd? off topics? C&A? you tell the mods and have them combine all of your threads into that one forum, into the already existing thread. i don't even know why i try, you don't seem able to grasp the simplest of things i try to explain. yes, my premise is any discussion is equivalent to spam.. what an asinine statement... truly, an asinine statement...-Jn

please stop bumping this, symmetry. Owen and I (cough cough am i saying it again?!) are right here. What you are basically doing is making people who get annoyed at stuff like this post in response, and when we do, it looks like the site isn't supporting homosexuals so you get to keep talking about it. The longer this thread goes on, the less I understand what its purpose is.

Perhaps you could just explain why stuff like this annoys you. Owen's not doing a great job at posting a rational criticism.

And I don't think that replying to people is really bumping.
