i can touch up the mountains a bit and ya the title was something i just threw in in the begining. there isnt a overlay tho thats just the colors i chose whats wrong with them, do the need to be brighter, more saturated?

this one is only a half stem because i am not satisfied with the what the name looks like.
- darkened the mountains and that looks better
- the title "Antarctica" is iffy in my opinion. Its the coloring. If people could drop ideas for making a good title that would be nice along with ur opinions or even a completed title (greatly apreciated )

found a calculator that finds the bonus values for maps it said East Antarctica should be 5 and i agree. also changed the title looks better now i think
also increased the saturation does that look better?

one mistake on the map: it should be "Shackleton Ice Shelf" instead of Shockleton. Also, is the area called Queen Maud's Land geographically correct? i didn't think that it was that big. also, it would have been interesting if the continents were divided by political claims, like new zealand's ross dependency, but i guess it's too late for that now

i jsut realised looknig at teh bonuses that i cant establish which bonuses are which. i think teh map need a like less of that blue overlay to help the colors for the legends and continents match better.
Now i want to bring up a point with teh boarders. there position is fine bit id like them to seem alot less bold. make them softer and a little transparent and maby a color change so there related more to teh continent there on.
i think we also need to get a texture for the water to liven it up a bit, its looking flat and kind of maknig teh map a little boarign to look at.
As for the new title i love it
keep up the good work id like to see this map further developed

D thanks for the correct spelling
Queen Mauds land is what that area is called on several of the maps i was using for reference but for its exact size i am not sure antarctica isnt layied out in countries like europe
Gimil i see what i can do with the water and the contry colors
thanks for the imput

Apologies in advance if my suggestion has been already -- uh -- suggested.
What about including parts of australia or argentina on the map? This would make it more of a total South Pole map, and could include naval routes as well as land routes. Seems a tad . . . . . circular, flat . . . . .

the boarder line are a little to strong. take the eraser and put it opacity down to about 20 percent and take it over the boarders and see how that looks. also the legends are better but still not great.
dull the yellow in the legends, make queen land more green that blue and peninsula need to have its color more distinct both on hte legends and the map itself.
As for the texture i have no complaints at teh moment

Completely agree.
But, now that the main graphical issues have been solved, I am now a bit worried about a few of the bonuses. Here's what I suggest:
East Antarctica: 6
West Antarctica: 2 (perhaps 3 but I think 2 is best)
Antarctic Peninsula: Again I'm torn between 2 and 3 - 5 territories is quite a lot for a bonus of 2 but, then again, there are only 2 borders
Polar Plateau: 7
Queen Maud's Land: 5

i dont like it to much it ruins the ice and water theme of antarctica

V10 - more line and color changes, also bonus change
blurred the lines tried to make the key more clear if this isnt good enogh i might put a emblem in say east ant. and put a corasponding one in the key
how are the bonuses i upped them a little due to robin's sugestions
also should i add more impassible borders?

I really like the colors in the most recent version, they just look colder.
One thing I have a problem with though- the impassable borders (the mountain things) just don't look to good. Kinda cartooney and different from the rest of the map, if you know what I mean. I think it would be better to make them com[lement the rest of the map a bit more.
