If there's another reason for needing the list just let me know and I'll write it up...

We need the list so we can warn players in all ongoing games of the changes so they won't be going WT*!

Seems easy enough...

South Greenland -> Greenland
North Greenland -> Iqaluit
Canadian Shield -> Kenora
New England -> New York
New York -> Pennsylvania
Louisiana -> Mississippi
Dominican Republic -> Hispaniola
Haiti -> East Cuba
Cuba -> West Cuba
Belize -> Guatemala
Nicaragua -> Honduras

How did we lose Louisiana on this one? Louisiana Purchase was the whole reason half of the U.S. is the U.S.

The original map doesn't need a re vamp. Why the hell are you lot fucking around with someone else's original hard work and effort?

When North America first came out, it was one of the best maps ever released.

If I ever had the slightest chance of considering making a map, this sort of re vamp shit makes my mind up that It's not worth doing, because 3 or 4 years down the line some cartography brown nosing prick and his mates give it the go ahead to be re drawn. f*ck that shit and all of you idiots currently massaging Natty's ego that this project is nothing but positive.

I'm here to tell you that it's not positive. It's negative.

The original mapmaker gave permission for the revamp.

The original mapmaker probably lost the will to live, getting the original map, through the foundry process in the first place.

North America was a speed demon through the original Foundry Process...mostly because there wasn't yet a Foundry Process in the early of 2006 when it was developed. ;)

Damn communist hippie, get out of here with your crazy ideas about peace and love...

The mapmaking process is strictly a "survival of the fittest" thing. If your map doesn't compare with the rest, then it's cut down and a better replacement will feed on it's corpse.

Or at least, that's the way it used to be before the admins started their Secret Foundry that apparently gets priority over us regular proletarian mapmakers... so I guess the current foundry model looks a bit more like crony capitalism, which is exactly why I retired from mapmaking. I can't work in an environment where shitheads who know nothing about mapmaking get priority over some map project, just because they happen to be admin's friends... and then they don't even have to follow the same rules as the rest of the mapmakers, they get Special Treatment. It's disgusting really.

But I digress. Man, this place just gets my blood pressure up, every time I come here I remember how the admin fucked me over and it just pisses me off every time... so please get this map up so I can get on with my life and say goodbye to the foundry... I don't want to come here anymore.

Natty,

Thought I was at the end til I saw there were 4 more pages. Don't think I'll read all that.... very sleepy. Just wanna say that I really like the new look. MUCH, much better than the original, which wasn't bad itself. Love the icons and the whole works. Can't wait to play on it and my thanks to thenobodies80 for posting a link to this thread in my current game. I had no idea this was in the works.

Thanks for the great work and the great maps!

The map is now live!

Going to leave this thread stickied for a bit, just to ensure everything is in the right place and there are no problems with the images. ;)

I'll post the headline etc as soon as I'm at home

Pretty nice update, but what's with the mountains and glaciers? Those parts look bush league. Like blobs of poop someone said. But I love the Mountie etc

The new look is nicer, but I prefer the old clunky version of the map as it is more visually appealing to me.

I have received feedback indicating that "French Canada" is offensive to some Canadians.

I'm therefore proposing changing the bonus area name to Atlantic Canada.

If anyone objects, speak now etc.
