Thanks Samus

Those are things that I have noticed from time to time but never got around to changing. Here is another type of texture. I forgot to fill in the lake near Taverly. I'll see which one people like better and then add dark army circles to it. Thanks again.

So which version does everyone like better (see first post)? I don't know how to change the poll so just post with things you liked/didn't like

Ok, I'm going to comment on the latest version:

1. I don't like the texture. It makes the continents look like Jello. Kinda odd IMO. I think with it being the way it is, the army numbers would be difficult to see..

2. The text is difficult to read/small.

3. I'm not really sure that I care for the background. It makes the map look like it's floating.

4. It reminds of Tamriel(a map I throughly enjoy) which means I probably won't play this map because of the similarities.

5. The ports take a bit to get used to.

There's not much to like here I'm afraid.

- You have a very tall map, which is unfavourable.
- I can't find a visual element that I like. The whole map is very busy and hard on the eye.

I'd go back and remove every single effect and style you have applied to the map so you're starting with the basics again. From there, I'd suggest some new colours and new textures toned right down. A new font is probably also in order.

See if you can come up with an image for those sea ports and please try and do something about the size of the map. Considering my large montior and resolution, I still wouldn't play this map on its height alone.

I will try and get maps up soon of new textures and colors along with font changes and army circles (dark). The dimensions are going to be a problem since the map is somewhat of a square more than a rectangle. I will try and debusy it. Also about the ports, I'm thinking of divided it into two sets of ports so that each set can only attack/fortify within its own set. MAybe add a nuetral port that could attack all of them. Thanks for all the help. I'm guessing the first texture is better.

As of right now, I guess the polls favor this map. I'm going to continue with it even though i still am waiting for Jagex's approval. Keep the comments coming and vote.

i got a response from jagex:

------------------
Dear Essiw,

Thank you for your message.

At Jagex we always aim to respond to every message we receive from our players individually and as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, due to the massive growth in popularity of RuneScape and the increasing number of queries that brings, we have not been able to keep up, and are not able to offer a personal response this time. We are increasing the size of our customer support unit and hopefully the next time you need help you will be able to get a quick answer!

We always give priority to answering all member queries personally, but we are now aiming to answer more free player queries. This number will increase even more in the coming weeks.

Why not consider becoming a member and help support the continued development of the game? Plus you'll also get a range of extra features and benefits like four extra bank pages, exclusive quests and you get no adverts that can sometimes put you off your game.
As a Member you also get access to the Forums which can usually answer any query you have allowing you more time to play the game.

RuneScape.com holds a mass of information on RuneScape and quite often you will find the answer you are looking for here, whether it be technical, billing or game related - one of the FAQ's is bound to help.

If you have tried this and still cannot find an answer to your query, please resubmit it again and we will try to give a personal response.

Once again, many thanks for your query, and apologies that we cannot give a personal response at this time.

Happy Gaming. :)

Don't forget to use the RuneScape Knowledge Base to find the answer to your queries quicker.

You can also find help on all free player and all new member quests through the QuestHelp system.

Yours Sincerely
Mod Heaton

people are overly concerned with copyrights here. the worst that would happen is Jagex sends CC a cease and desist, CC pulls the map, end of story. That however is unlikely to ever happen. Jagex has no reason to be litigious is this matter, and quite the opposite may be true, Jagex would appreciate a runescape map as it promotes its product. I for one have never heard of runescape until now.

If i were you I wouldn't worry about it, although the mods may have a bug up there ass.

Copyright infringement? Just ask these folks http://images.google.com/images?svnum=1 ... rch+Images

LMAO i know...there are so many runescape oriented sites with copyrighted info...however they could have overcame copy right issues but i highly doubt thay

I'll try and get a new map up soon i relly want to get this map going

You should just keep going with this map; even if Jagex doesn't allow you to do it, just change the names of a few things, and keep the map.

Last line of the "How to Make a Map" thread:

people don't sue when there is nothing to gain, as formal legal action requires real money.

I mean the only argument they might have is that people are paying to join CC instead of Runescape in order to ge tthe same feel. So therefore Runescape would be lossing money but i really dont think that is a legit argument...idk Ill keep working because i plan on playing on this map with my friends on paper so its not a complete waste.
