Well, I'm back in town and it seems some of our lieutenants have not fared well over the weekend. I will still keep your names on the list in case you climb back up, but for now we are still looking for at least 4 more players, so tell your friends!

OK, so I've decided to soften my admission policy and just start this tourney with the highest ranked people who signed up. This is my first tournament with a rating requirement and let's just say I've learned from the experience. I promise future attempts will be smoother and clearer.

The list of players and ratings will be up on the first post and I will send a PM to the choosers. Thank you all for your patience and let's get this thing underway.

OK, the teams have been selected and the bracket is published, so it's time to get underway. I still need to get home maps from a few of you but I will send out invites for the matches which are ready to play later this evening. Good luck to all.

Except for the team that submitted their own, I have given you all names for the sake of the bracket. If you wish to have a different name just let me know.

I exist to serve. I must say, however, that I am more proud of sniperperch.

Both of those names are pretty awesome!

You guys don't have to post scores, but I appreciate the consideration.

The 2nd round will start as soon as all matches, but not necessarily all games, from the 1st round are officially won.

A couple games of Round 1 are still in the mopping up stages, but the series are decided so I'm getting Round 2 started. Invites have been sent out.

Nonetheless, leehaado is on to the semi's with 2-0 and the last game in the balance (intriguingly it's again our home map...)

Do you want there to be?

We finally just about scraped through into the Finals. Are you gonna throw all games to us at once, or can we breathe a bit? ;)

Invites have been sent out for the Finals, there shall be no breathing room Leehar :P.

There is no official fog rule and I will not enforce one here, but I do urge all competitors to allow your opponents 12 hours to see the map before the first turn is taken. For those not going first I also consider it customary to inform the other team when you have gotten your look. It's an honor thing.

precisely how i would prefer to play it, though we got a bit anxious in a couple games and just explained our first moves to the other team.

great tourney, pyrhhus. cheers.

Ah well, really looks like it's an inevitable victory for mk and evil since they do seem to have gotten the drop of us in all their home games, and the random seems to be going to them as well.
I would've preferred that breathing room since perhaps it could have given us more a chance in siege, but still definitely well played by our opponents to push us out of contention there so easily.

I am slightly confused. How did the game starting right away effect it's result? Do you mean you wanted to get in a practice game or something? I know there is some trepidation about fog games sometimes, and if you only have one time of day at which you can accept an invite before it expires, you could PM your opponents to discuss the fog issue. I do not mean to sound critical, I just don't know what you mean. :|

You do raise a good point though and in the future I will be explicit about my round-starting procedures. For the record, I try - not always successfully - to start rounds as quickly as possible after the previous round has ended, or once the next round matchup is determined. If you need a delay let me know and I may be accommodating. Delays are granted under more or less the same circumstances as someone subbing for you. Acceptable reasons: vacations, illnesses, unusually heavy work load, etc. Unacceptable reasons: In a lot of CC games, want time to study the map, need time to update your own tournament/Mafia game/clan war, etc.
