That's the inspiration.

Okay then.

As inspiration it's a good map idea but I would consider going with these set up but maybe changing the theme. Yggdrasil is intricate enough on its for a good map.

Am I to understand you don't like the map, then?

I like the map, but would suggest changing the theme. Just a thought

Don't mean to sound rude, but to keep it simple: Why?

Well, it's not really Yggdrasil anymore, for starters...

Any concrete representation of something abstract will have faults, don't you agree?

Again, I'll ask you (all) to argue your points. Otherwise I can't really tell whether you're just being obstructive or have valid concerns.

Just concerns in the accuracy. WIth most historical maps on here, accuracy is very good and important with alot of people nitpicking the Information. With the more fantasy maps, some creative leeway is taken.

With this map, Yggdrasil could be a great map on its own with the historical information(The vast amount thats out there) and that i like your layout but would just suggest a different theme.

Also being of a type that truly believe in Yggdrasil, Accuracy and respect for it are kinda a stickler

Well, as I said in my first post, I quite agree that a more concrete representation of Yggdrasil could be a great map. Plenty of room for cool graphics and non-standard gameplay. I just don't think it excludes an abstract version of Yggdrasil. Surely, there's room for both.

Yeah, I understand - I guess a map of the Christian Heaven might bring about some controversy as well.
I do respect most religions and their followers (Asetro among them), and I think I've given a fair and reasonable representation of the World Tree. True, I've taken liberties with Jormungand and to some degree with the realms (though there are many sources to quote which have only 8 realms), but I've done my utmost to preserve the structure and feel of the mythology. I probably will not be changing the theme, but if you have any suggestions as to how to arrange the territories in a way that better represents your idea of Yggdrasil, while keeping the basic premisses of the map intact, I would be very happy to hear them!

Thanks again for commenting.

I've come to the realization that I will not have the skills necessary to do the kind of graphics I want for this one any time soon, and I'm not about to compromise on them.

So, I ask to have this moved to the bin. Who knows, I might pick it up again some day.
