Hey Kyle,

For smoothing the lines using Gimp - can't remember if this is what I did but I think it worked for me.

Select all your borders - try doing a select by colour on black, hopefully your text is in a different layer so it won't pick that up - copy then paste as a new layer, use one of the blur filters (like Gaussian blur), then play with the levels on that new layer so all the greys become full black. Pm me if you need to.

Only now Im looking better at this map. It has many problems. See: maps that are one piece only, like Brazil, Germany, USA... they hardly can be done without some unpassable borders. No need to be geographically accurate, or rivers, mountains, but borders. See the number of border countries and countries in your map (they are usually very high):

Russia claim: 3/3
South Pole: 4/4
Australia claim: 5/8
Argentina claim: 3/6
Norway claim: 3/7
Britain clain: 4/5
Chile claim: 3/3
New Zealand claim: 5/5

I counted 41 countries to 8 continents. Maybe we can have some less continents, and it could be easier have some less borders...

I also cant understand the names of the countries of South Pole... they are pretty ridiculous. Is there a reason for them?

And I dislike the background. The continent seems to be in the rain :D

Mod Edit: (Psst I like to keep the Foundry threads somewhat clean)

That's really nasty, and you should have started your own jokey thread instead of degenerating the integrity of this one.

Now that that's over with, I've pulled a few images off google image that should help you out with your natural border situation.

The original size is here:

This one is good for seeing the mountain range that runs through the continent before the peninsula...

I agree with grim about the picture. Would you mind at least switching that from an image tag to a url tag, Rulic?

Oh, and images like the ones grim posted would probably make for a nice background texture.

I actually like the rain pattern on the background but if people think that that isn't good, i will attempt to change it

--Natural borders(no those aren't my final mountains when i find an image that works i delete this layer)
--Vostok with my proposed new font.
--Black names in key.

Don't think the blur quite worked - borders are still cornery. The layers can get stupid sometimes - try it again but before doing so do "layer to image size" on the borders layer.

Hmm...pretty well all of them...e.g. all the borders of Schwaben land...you want them all to look like the McMurdo side of the southern McMurdo border, which seems to be good.

I like the textures, but you could use more instead of 1 or 2.

Main art things you can change: the background, fonts, and mainly that non crossable things. Oh, you could change some names, like Amundsen Scott Land (I thing its very big), re-design some countries, because some are bigger than they need, and others are tiny.

Later, we can also discuss some playability things.
