Is it too late to submit a change? Currently:
New York Jets
Offense - jrh_cardinal - American Civil War - no spoils, chained, no fog
Defense - iamkoolerthanu - Classic - escalating, chained, no fog
Would like it to change to:
New York Jets
Offense - jrh_cardinal - American Civil War - no spoils, chained, no fog
Defense - iamkoolerthanu - Madness - escalating, chained, no fog

one suggestion - before every round, I think you may send to away teams offense and defense settings for their next opponent, and then away players choose who will play vs offense player and who will play vs defense player.

on that way you allow to teams that they make deal who like to play which of 2 offered away maps, so they may prepare their tactics better. if somebody dont respond to your offer, you may set up away team roster by default settings.

While this is a great idea, the time that would be consumed for 64 teams would be crazy. The full schedule will be posted before the first games are sent & the players teams, names, maps & settings will also be posted. Therefore anyone could look at the schedule & then go look up the up coming games to be played at any time.

Thanks,
MG

if you like this idea, it can be implemented with not so lot loosing of time. you may post full schedule and after that give deadline (2-3 days) to teams to change roster for away games if they like to do it. if any team dont answer within the deadline, then you left their roster default.

so, maximum changes per team would be 8 (because 8 away games), and changes wouldnt be lot of job for you, just replacing offense and defense for some games that away teams want to replace.

in CC words, the main reason for that suggestion is that players play the games that they like more.
in sports words, why some player must be defensive (or offensive) whole season? dependng on opponent, coach may change the tactics and surprise the opponent team with changing playing position of some players.

I guess I didn't understand your first idea. I thought is was just to know who your opponent is ahead of time to maybe prepare for their home map. Which I explained you can figure out just from the schedule I post.
With that said, Having to play on away maps that you may or may not like or be good at is the whole point to the home team having "Home Field advantage". This whole tourney idea is based off of that concept & will not be changing from that.

Thanks,
MG

I guess you still didnt understand my idea, so I will explain it in details.

for example,
home team has settings:
Offense - mgconstruction - Siege!, no spoils, chained, no fog
Defense - shoop76 - Malta, esc, chained, foggy

away team has settings:
Offense: Moonchild - British isles - escalating, chained, sunny
Defense: josko.ri - feudal epic - escalating, adjacent, foggy

so, like it is now settings, mgconstruction will play vs moonchild on siege map(offense vs offense) and shoop76 will play vs josko.ri on malta map(defense vs defense).

my suggestion is that moonchild and josko.ri can choose who will be offense and who will be defense for every away game, including this one. maybe josko.ri more like to play Siege! map and moonchild more like to play Malta map, so their set up for that away game will then be:
Offense: josko.ri
Defense: Moonchild

on that way, mgconstruction and shoop76 still have full home advantage (nobody changed any their home setting). you only left away team chance to set up roster for every game, like it is possible in real sports competition.
in real competition, coach can put defending player in offensive position and viceversa if he think that is for benefit of the team.

I understood it perfectly when I responded the 2nd time. However "Home field advantage" is defined in this tourney(As I define it) as the Home player having an advantage by playing on their home map against the opponent they are scheduled to play. I am not going to get into an every week deal of giving the away team an option to choose which map they want to play on. This would allow the away team to choose the better of their two players on certain maps they are better at, which isnt much of an advantage to the home team.
This would also slow the tournament down considerably and would in fact take a lot more time in which I don't always have. The tournament as is takes quite a few hours a week to maintain and will remain as is.

Furthermore, I sent out a PM to everyone that played last year over a month ago asking for ideas on tourney changes, rule changes etc. The people that did bother to respond got all of their ideas implemented into this tourney. This tourney thread that we have been discussing this in is not for the purpose implementing new ideas in this tourney, but it is for sign ups, results etc. If you wish to participate in the implementing of new rule changes and/or game play changes then I suggest you answer the PMs I send in the off season.

Thanks,
MG
