My dad used that analogy for knowing how to ride in a canoe, laughing at my grandfather because he couldn't do it.
And then guess what happened.
My father fell in.

I took my wife and kids in a canoe a couple of days ago. I don't recall them being so unstable. We managed to keep from falling in.
