ballenus wrote:well, I just thought that in an 8 player games you have three oponent teams, so it is logical to give 3 points. For my part I believe that in two teams games, dices play a greater role than in 8 players escalating. In first round you can earn 24 points, 12 for the 4P games and 12 for the 8P games. As for poison rome, I'm unsure but I think we will have winners by round 20, if no then the penalty rule will have to be applied...
Yes I seen the logic behind them, but just as you know in escalating when multiple players are involved just about anything can and will happen. 50% of your score should not depend on others, rather it should be 75% on you and 25% on the 8 man games. And yes while 8 man games have a bit less to do with dice, the nature of a doubles tournament is expected to have the typical dice issues or lack of. We all get the same dice.
Anyhow enjoying the tournament so far. Thanks for hosting.

Thanks for the tourney Ballenus - enjoying it. Appreciate the score updates.
Poison Rome - might be a long one - but maybe round 17 will get funny with everyone cashing & trying to kill each other. Carnage!

As regards the 8P rules, I must say that, trying to make some simulations, I realise that, in average, each player gets 0,5 points per 4 players game and 0,75 points per 8 players game. I can't change anything for the first round (with games already played) but maybe for the first I may modify the rule to find a better balance.

You can do as you wish, as it's your tournament. However, we all saw the rules stated clearly before we joined this tournament. If it's skewed, it's skewed, but that's the rules we all began with, and signed up for.

Don't be changing the rules now. Because bruce starts crying. I think how they are is fine. Any game is drop dependent... The 8player games require a bit more attention to detail, taking snapshots, discussing card colours etc. Think the scoring should reflect this. 4player games there is a much greater drop and 1st turn advantage so they are a lot more luck dependent. Thats my 2cents worth.
ps - People that signed up for this tournament where happy enough with it to join.... If it ain't broke why try and fix it?

I do not think this rule change is about me, but rather trying to make the tournament more about what you do rather than what someone else does. I think that is all he is getting at.

What a close finish for the top 3 teams. If we would have won just one more game against the winners, it would have been our name up there. Congrats to everyone who made it to the finals, fantastic job by ballenus and steve066 for winning, and thanks to ballenus for running a heck of a tourney! I look forward to an invite to your next one
