Wow, these are incredible. Very articulate pieces of original work, and it's clear you really have a talent for this - to get in a book is quite an achievement, and a shockingly pleasant surprise for you I can imagine. Thanks for the link!

an early shot of the guys at the wall when I was painting my Freehand Piece above...
I'm the 4th guy up, painting the wall, in the white Tee Shirt. Everyone's faces pixelated to avoid the old Bill getting some info...
Later on, there were about 50 writers at this meet all painting a panel each. London's 2010 graffiti get together of the year.

This was done on the side wall of Martins mum and dads wall that separated the house from the driveway to the rear garage. Martin was one of the three of us who painted this.

So this was done legally

Back in the mid 80's I was into Hip Hop and used to write graffiti .
I've just come across this and I though I'd share it with you.
I only did about 5 pieces on trains and I only managed to get photos of 1 underground train that we finished at about 5:00 in the morning. I have no idea how these photos got on the internet, but it made my Friday. 1986 was a very good year. :D

1. I don't believe you did this. (Tagging does last from 1986 to 2010 and it's not likely you'd happen to come across it)
2. Even if you did do it, you're a total douche bag for tagging your meaningless shiz.
3. We already knew you were a douche bag anyways.

Well I'm glad to see you are a fine artist. Just remember a lot of people work really hard on their property. And a lot of people pay a lot of money, time, and effort, to keep cities "clean".

I have no idea what your problem is, but in this often stale forum, regardless whether you like my work or not, this one thread is unique.

I know of no other thread where someone is posting photos of their artistic work.

For a change, people who just see the mindless defacing of the majority of graffiti, are able to see that graffiti channelled into something more than just spraying a quick tag or throw up, can be something of beauty. Maybe if local councils were able to look in here and ask questions to an anonymous poster and get sensible feedback, maybe the sort of graffiti I currently do could be more widespread.
In this day and age there are far too many buildings and structures that are built to a budget, instead of for aesthetic qualities. An architect is more than willing to use bare concrete and try and make it part of the design.
In days gone by, when England was great, we would build power stations, chimneys and bridges out of brick. These things still stand and look lovely.
maybe if it was law that any concrete surface was a legal spot for street art. (and I'm not just talking about me and graffiti letters) if concrete was to become a surface for anyone to paint, you might get a bunch of retired people with an artistic streak in them, going out there with some paint and painting flowers, or some abstract painting or whatever. Sure there would be a lot of what i term 'dogging' and a lot of political slogans etc. But if it was to encourage people to go out and express themselves with a brush or a roller or a spray can, for others to enjoy.... It's got to be a whole lot better than boring old concrete and it would encourage architects to make more buildings from brick or stone, which in itself is a nicer thing to look at. Making the world a more beautiful place.

Wtf???

First of all the only private property that was painted was Pedro's friend's parents' house and he had their permission.
Secondly, these are artistic creations that are a part of those cities' cultural heritage now. If a City pays an artist a few hundred thou for a sculpture in front of city hall you have no problem with that. If an artist like Pedro transforms a mundane brick wall or the side of a train into a thought provoking piece of art you call it vandalism.

Pedro's art didn't cost the city a penny - he should be saluted as a community asset and not branded a delinquent by tightassed priggish sorts. Free spirited artists like Pedro brighten up our cities with a bit of color, while his detractors give us bullshit laws and regulations that choke us and cut off freedom of expression.

Keep up the good work Pedro. You are a bright spot in a bleak world.

I have to mention. Near Auckland the tagging is out of control. It's on everything close to the train and most of it was not pleasant to my eye. I'm pretty sure it's angular form is based somewhat on Maori designs that are just very course looking. Most other places in the world I've seen street art it's more pleasant like Pedro's.

Things are obviously different here; all the grafitti is either simply vandals or gang related and ruins public property. There IS a lot of sanctioned painting by artists (which I am sure would include Pissed-Off-Pete) on buildings and such, so he could probly mnake a good living here AND get to beat up taggers when he caught em....bonus!

Seconded. I wish that your paint was cheaper and that you had more free time. =(

Everyone try to cut this guy some slack. He's something different from the usual rigmarole. Plus, he unites everyone in the forum together. No matter what our political persuasion, religion, or creed is, he binds us against him.
Like Hitler.

It's kind of a provocative question isn't it? "What is graffiti?"

If Pedro was tagging Wrigley Field or my grandma's garage, then f*ck him because that IS graffiti and I'm gonna find him like Antoine Dodson.
But when he tags anything else, especially as in a cement drainage wall, or underpass... then for me, what he is doing is art. He's good at it, and he actually gives you something that you want to look at. Hell, just his mixes of colors get's my attention. It's beautiful.
I was actually thinking about this question though, and my mind went back. You already know that here in the USA we slaughtered the NAs, and we took their lands with treaties that we never intended to keep. We built towers, and sidewalks, parking lots, and put up fences. We cut down the forests. We drained the swamps. We criss-crossed the country with interstates where we all can litter our fast food wrappers. I cannot ever look up in the sky without seeing an airplane or a jet-stream that was left by one. I can't even look up at the night sky at the stars without seeing an airplane or satellite. To me, that all feels like graffiti. Just ugly stuff speckling the scenery, and it's color and attitude like Pedro's that helps to rectify that with my eyes. And that's just speaking for me. Three =D> =D> =D> for Pedro. Hero of London.

Well said. I'd much rather look at even gang graffiti than the fooking billboards that litter the countryside. Funny i don't hear any of the "concerned citizens" here mentioning that.

thanks for the positive input guys.

too many people tend to have an opinion on stuff they don't understand and are more than willing to disrespect what they don't relate to. It's nice to see some free minds in bumpage giving me some support. Not all the free minds have been gagged by the Nazi mods.

I can't understand latin / italian, but I can enjoy opera. Only the truly ignorant will dismiss any art they don't understand, and my art isn't aimed at the higher echelons of society. It's there for your sons (& possibly daughters) to be able to copy and or emulate.
