Just look at his 4.2 rating and that is all you need to know about a person like him

4.6 should probably be the lowest any levels out of--if not there are some kind of issues somewhere

Hell look at me--how many players have I called dumb ass or cursed at over the years--very many--usually I get a low rating from it--but I don't care and I hate bad play----bad play just wastes time. All that being said and 196 foes and I still have a 4.8 rating--probably should be lower--lol. So anyone with a low low like I 4.2 rating has social, mental, and real life issues most likely outside of CC. Just an observation and guess--I don't know or do I care to know anyone with that low of a rating.

I suspect that there is something about skill differentials that allows more players to be knocked out early in the tournament, and as players' skill levels converge, we get closer to that theoretical elimination rate of 12.5%.

Love the number-crunchers but must opine (negatively) that escalating has very little to do with skill and so results are skewed due to high usage of escalating spoils.

Appreciate posting of such data, big up the nerds!

Haha, I appreciate your point. But even if escalating games decrease the effect of skill, it would still be in line with my reasoning. For there would still be some effect of skill. So maybe in a no spoils tourney of this type, you'd see and even lower survival rate, but as the players' skill level converges, that would still tend toward the 87.5% that it "should" be.

I don't necessarily agree with you on your escalating spoils hunch. But neither do I have any evidence to back that up. Hell, what I made in the first place was just a prediction, which by definition has no evidence. I'm waiting for the evidence to come in!
