Knew it, you wet noodle.
In all cerialness though, we need to get this progress thing going. We can debate the logistics and flavor of the Oracle/Crier at a later date. I don't think they're serving any purpose for D2. Perhaps in D3, they'll reveal more information that could (or could not) be more relevant.
Come fellow townies, join me on my crusade against the lurkers and vote for Benga!

Bujaber, since you are purposefully ignoring the fact that Oracle saying that Pika is hostile is the LEAST of my reasons for voting for him, so I'm going to purposefully ignore your purposeful ignoration.

Don't be silly, most of the people didn't get any messages about you.
Wow Spirit Voice, you were right! She IS totally paranoid!

I had a Chef role in my most recent game, which I accidentally made super OP for the first night. This means that the crier knows what Mandy's role is, and the chef knows who the crier is, but Mandy knows neither because we haven't had anyone role claim those roles.
Also I essentially agree with Kwan's statements.
What is a 'Chef'? The Mafia Wiki is failing me.
btw, I'm also going to try out a darker shade of red.
A chef can choose two players to have 'dinner' with each other where they each find out their roles, but not alignment (sometimes they do but its a bit OP imo). They may be able to communicate, but it's up to the mod for that.
Because the chef chose two players to have dinner with each other, and now Mandy has said that the other person was a crier, the chef has more knowledge on who people are than anyone else here.

my eyes hurt now
don't trust anything coming from TFO, so oracle gives me no comfort
it comes simply from the stating that town got PR
since I didn't get any notice thru pm I can't take anything from oracle as valid either
I presume that TFO is oracle
too tired now, will get more tomorrow

It seems fairly obvious to me that madmitch is claiming to be a Commuter, why they would do so while under no pressure whatsoever is beyond me however...
I'm far more curious why the Oracle has gone completely silent as soon as any questions were asked about how their role functions.
FOS:Code: Select all
Facts so far today (in order):
- An Anonymous Voice claims Skoffin is investigative
- mandalorian2298 claims to have been visited by a crier
- Skoffin denies being investigative
- Several people cast doubt on the Oracle/Anonymous Voice
- An Anonymous Voice claims Pikanchion is Hostile
- aage and Samlen each claim to have received a "sketchy offer" involving an "unsavory object"
- strike wolf, BuJaber, Skittles!, and madmitch claim not to have received such an offer
- An Anonymous Voice claims that mandalorian2298 is Town, that one spirit tells the truth, one "just says anything" (ambiguous), and the third lies
- An Anonymous Message (note the distinction between "Voice" and "Message") claims to be the Town Crier
- kwanton claims to have recieved a PM from An Anonymous Voice saying that Skoffin is the Town Crier and the spirit talking about mandalorian2298 was telling the truth
- Several days pass mainly speculating on the Oracle's results because the Oracle remains silent
FOS:Code: Select all
Speculation:
- One of aage or Samlen declined the offer, and the object was then offered to the other, and would presumably have been offered to another if they declined and so on
- Therefore the second of these two to receive the offer accepted it
- Perhaps if both of the above declined this offer and a third accepted then this third person is remaining quiet on account of the consequences of accepting said item
- The Voice/Message distinction was deliberate and the Oracle and Town Crier are different roles which we can distinguish between when each speaks
FOS:Code: Select all
Actions required:
- The Oracle needs to clarify their role in more detail, especially in light of kwanton's claim
- Why were your posts today so far apart?
- Please clarify what the term "just says anything" means in more detail if possible
- Please verify kwanton's claim
- kwanton please verify that it was the Anonymous Voice and not an Anonymous Message that contacted you
- The Oracle and Town Crier should both post more (doesn't necessarily matter what about) via mod to verify that the distinction between them (Voice/Message) is a real one
FOS:Code: Select all
How would the Anonymous Voice (i.e. the Oracle) know that Skoffin was the Town Crier? Why would they then say that the spirits described her as Investigative? How would they also know that the mandalorian2298 spirit is telling the truth for certain?
There are far too many discrepancies here right now, and they all revolve around this Oracle.

Thanks Pika, that was a really useful Day 2 synopsis.
Still, this game remains exceptionally mysterious to me, but fascinatingly so.

Waits for Mandy to spin Pika's latest post negatively.
Wanna lynch scum? Mitch
Wanna lynch someone who's either lying (therefore probably scum) or telling the truth (which if we confirm would allow us to confirm a number of other things)? Kwanton
Thoughts? Mandy? Pika? Others who have analyzed the 'facts' being handed to us?
Skoffin? (Who for some reason keeps denying every statement made about him even though they are most likely townie roles) I am interested in every post you ever make. Anything to help me make a decision onyl your alignment Btw not that it's important but in answer to your question it was the post where you declared that you have changed your mind and actually see the benefit of no lynch. (Though now that I think about it why wouldn't you want someone else to get lynhced if you were SK since that ultimately brings you closer to being last one standing) hmmm. Okay you are definitely not SK. I swear this last thought only came to me now. *shakes head* So much time wasted on the SK theory...

It's social bias to eliminate the idea of women being actual people and to make men seem more important.
Anyway, as for your post. Why do you think Kwanton isn't telling the truth? It would be a really dumb move for him to come out and say he got a PM from a voice and go out on a limb to save Mandy, especially after what happened to Dakky on D1.
SK theory never made sense, sorry. I don't know what Skoffin's alignment is but I never really know what her alignment is.

Bujaber, I'm not spinning anything, I am voting Pika, not because I dispute that he is quality player, but because he is scum. At least the pressure from Skoff and I made him write two all-red posts. Too bad he is such a careful poster that the chances of him slipping are zero and, as usual, it is not that hard to abide by a separate PC, when the majority of players are n00bish enough to let that slide.
My vote stays on Pika. History will vindicate me.

Thank you. And now, since PR is no more, and Oracle could have been random or lying when it pronounced you hostile; the only reason's left for voting you are your vote on me right when I got proven Townie and Bujaber being Jesse Custer-level of protective towards you.
And my viscera. Gotta trust in the viscera!

I'm a sucker for the underdog. And I already failed to stop one bad lynch; don't want to go 2 for 2. Now if someone else can backup your case on Pika somehow before the lynch happens that'd be good and I'd be all in with you.
I see skittles. I wish I never asked. If society as a whole can be affected by dying notions that are only still believed by a small minority then there's not a lot of hope of mass reform / social evolution.
As for kwanton I didn't say he was lying, just considering both possibilities in case we do lynch him as justification for lynching him.

I'm sensing a horrible Deja Vu and my urge to side with Mandy.
If we're near a dead line, and nothing else rears it's head, I'll have to side with Mandy on this because I feel like a persecution on him is just scummy. In the meantime, my vote stays on Benga.

Pika, it was a voice which spoke directly into my head. I'm paraphrasing because I'm not allowed to quote the pm directly but it was definitely a voice and not a message.
While I am convinced Mandy is town, I'm not convinced that pika is the right lunch.
Since like I said before the pika is hostile message is likely either false or nonsense.
If we do hear from the oracle, I'd like to know if nonsense means it's randomly true or false.
Also, I lie as town all the time and it works out well

yeah. I'm tempted to just ignore the Kwan voice thing for now. We have enough to figure out and considering Mandy isn't really a top lynch candidate even without it, it doesn't provide much practical advice for the lynch. Just another role for Skoffin to deny.
I think I have a better understanding of the crier mandy situation as I had thought the crier had set up the date but now I get that it could be this chef role, so ill withdraw my question to the crier.
So considering the evidence. Excuse me if I'm out of order on these.:
Spirit 1 says Skoffin is investigative, she denies.
Spirit 2 says Pika is hostile
Spirit 3 says Mandy is town.
One lies, one tells the truth and one speaks in nonsense. Considering other evidence pointing to Mandy being town, it is very unlikely that the spirit talking about Mandy is a liar though it could be nonsense that guessed correctly. So Spirit 3 truthful>nonsense>>>>>>lying. Spirit 1 and Spirit 2 lying=nonsense>truthful. Further analysis though. The results on both mand y and Pika seem more alignment indicative while the one bringing up Skoffin says she's investigative. It's possible that this slight difference in how it's presented means that Skoffins spirit was the nonsense one.
Based on this Pika doesn't seem like a great choice. However, Mandy is likely town and has more experience with Pika. It's difficult for me to prove his logic based on it being from experience I don't have but it's worth noting and Skoffin never replied to my question on whether mand y was right about his scum behavior.

One other thought,
I don't think the phrase ''Pika is hostile'', just by itself, can be interpreted as a lie.
Since there are at least two teams in this game, we are all 'hostile' to the gameplay objectives of some other players.
This probably means the Pika statement is 'True'... though it could also possibly be interpreted as trite nonsense.
Of course, I'm also going with the assumption that each of the three spirits spoke once and only once on Day 2. That may not be correct.

if you are going that way logic is simple
mandy town - truth spirit
skoff - nonsense spirit - as she said she is not it
pika - lying spirit
