I don't think the names are needed, maybe change the colours slightly to compensate if need be, but having them there wouldn't stop me from playing. So it's up to you, just a suggestion.

I will remove them, and change the colors a littlesailorseal wrote:We'll play with that idea, I think the two sides need different lighthouses for distinguishing reasons

the lighthouses were there from when it was just the lighthouses attacking each other, so they were their for distinguishing which could attack which. But now i just didn't think i needed to change them.I will if you think i shouldOverall, I'm looking forward to giving this map a try out

Hey Julien, what's with all yellow? I don't get it. It looks better with different colors

You will never move this map ahead until you decide one way or another what the gameplay is going to be once and for all. Every time you change it, it just pushes your map back. I thought you had something without the boats...just a nice simple enjoyable map to play. You keep changing it whenever someone comments on it. Stick with one idea and polish it.

I Opened a poll, but it didn't work. I guess our old one from a while ago that was messed up was never deleted, so this one doesn't work either. If a mod sees this, could you please delete the poll

poll deleted.
this looks much better than it did at the start, when there were far too many boats. give bonuses for holding the boats, otherwise they'll be a bit pointless. u'll need to state in the first post that the boats (and north fork) will be coded as start positions, to prevent someone from starting with a bonus in 1v1 games. can u make one boat of each colour
not attackable by land? this will cause the boat bonuses to be more reasonable when compared with the equivalent land bonus (north fork).
if u do decide to add a highway, then 32 is the logical number of total regions to have; an extra boat of each colour means that boats do not need to be start positions.
a few spelling mistakes: Hemp-Stead for Hempstead, South Hampton for Southampton and, as already mentioned, Hapmton's Spirit for Hampton's Spirit.

Thanks ian but in LI Southampton is correct, the second h is excluded, Hempstead is also correct, but overall thanks

Ok, i will. Just wondering, should i give a separate bonus for both sets, and one overall; or make just two separate bonuses; or just make one overall bonus?
iancanton wrote:u'll need to state in the first post that the boats (and north fork) will be coded as start positions, to prevent someone from starting with a bonus in 1v1 games.
Do you mean start neutral

Already done

We are not adding a highway

do you mean should take the one word names off of two lines?
Thank you ian

it's up to u. though i was assuming two separate bonuses, the other options work too.

if the 3 red boats are start positions, then this means (in 1v1) one will be urs, one will be ur opponent's and the third will start neutral (at random).

i mean that, on the map, u currently have a capital S in Hempstead and two Hs in Southampton.

Thanks a lot ian!

Nice new look!
Here are the changes i can think of now
--can you make the names of the continents just a bit smaller please, they look huge ( i am talking about the names right next to the land, not under the title)
-- I dont know if it is the text you are using, but all the g's and p's look like they are cut-off on the bottom
-- could you move the light house on cedarhurst some where else, maybe closer to the name, right now it is not very noticeable

i agree with ian, it sounds like a good idea to make the boats bonuses.
looks great

Thank you, i was planning on getting rid of the continent names, and making the colors more different.

I am currently using Hobo STD for my font. I see what you mean, but i don't think it matters too much.

I was planning on changing all the lighthouses on the South to be the same as the North. Tell me if you think this is a bad idea.

I find that map makers over shadow drop, but in this case, with the white lighthouses on a light background, you might want to shadow drop the lighthouses a little.

This is still looking great, but i am getting a bit confused.
Correct me if I am wrong but I dont see anything on that says what the lighthouses are for, like if there is a bonus for them
If there is o bonus for them then maybe the aren't necessary

If there's no bonus for the lighthouses then I would say get rid of them.

In my opinion the old style far, far out classes the new one. The new colours in paticular are flat boring and unappealing. Sorry LED but this is how I feel. I suspect others will agree.

We are trying to get a good color tablet down, we have been experimenting, any set of colors you would like to see?

The development of this map has got no direction to it at all
Things keep getting added, taken away, and changed completely, and it's very difficult to get an idea of what you are trying to achieve.
Before posting another update, I suggest taking some time to think about what exactly you're trying to do. The multicoloured version from a couple of updates ago was far superior (in my opinion) than the yellow version. You keep flitting between boats and lighthouses and attack routes etc... If you keep changing the direction of the map with every update, you'll end up getting nowhere fast. Pick something and stick with it (provided that there is a sound logical reason for it).

The old ones? There was nothing wrong with them in the first place was there?
