I did NOT put the dots on the Google Earth Map.

The only thing I see is that the Tacoma/Federal Way border should be pushed out into the water further so that the Federal Way/Pugent Sound boarder is "flater"....but I don't see anything wrong with the geography of the cities/territories/Continents......

tisha, this is looking good. Something weird may have happened to the bottom of the legend on the small map.

I don't know the Seattle area, but I suggest that those of you who keep comparing this map to other "real maps" please take into consideration the fact that the maps you are comparing have completely different scales. When you consider the difference in scale between tisha's map and bedub's google map above, it looks like Lakewood may have been in the correct spot to begin with. The region that's been renamed as "West Tacoma" also seems to include Lakewood, though more of the region may be Tacoma.

Anyway, it's a game map, and not meant to give directions. We try to be as accurate as possible, but sometimes it's good for game play to make generalizations or take liberties that bend reality a bit.

I don't think so Oak. I think it's better how it is now since Lakewood isn't close enough to Gig to be neighboring it and I'm pretty sure there's no Lakewood-Vashon ferry route.

Where's the Space Needle? And Ivars? And the locks? And the Hydros? And South Center? And the floating bridges?

...and the flooding?

:P

I jest, of course...I think it's nearly cooked.

Sure, I agree with you that it is better as is wicked... my point is just that for game purposes CC maps tend to take some liberties with reality - push borders in or out a bit, make generalizations about what to call a regions, lump regions together under one name, etc. Lakewood may not border Gig, but Tacoma may not be close enough to border Lacey - and maybe it is, I'm just using this an an example that these general names can and will never please everybody.

Maps should get things right geographically, and the concerns about what to call a region that have posted in this thread are legitimate, but I hope this doesn't lead to somebody spending hours comparing Tisha's game map to satellite images to make sure that every border is on the correct pixel.

T at this point, you need to cover the entire map with water and mudslides to make it accurrate. Sorry. Maybe add some whales on rooftops waving white flags?

I hope that's a joke. It's hard to tell with you sometimes and I take almost everything literally.

Do we have any real suggestions?

Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

A thought just occurred. The legend stands out a bit more that I'd like it to. Is there a way you could apply the same texture to the background colors in the legend as the land has just to see if that lowers the contrast. I'd like to see it even if it does in fact look best as it does here.
