Round 6 and only 5 wins? I expected more from you guys.

You're doing the damn scoring. We were expecting a scoreline more like round 6 and 7 wins. Pull your finger out mate and start massaging those figures. You know it makes sense.

Yeah, you're right. I don't why I bother with a tournament like this, I should just give you guys the medal and save me the trouble!

PS: On second thought I decided to let you fight for it
Ok, we're passed the deadline to join the games for Round 8. After 2 days to join the games I had to send invites for 33(!) games. Making a mistake on the way and having to make new games and send invites for those. Took me 2 hours to figure out who had not joined which game, etc. Come on guys, this is getting ridiculous. I really need a bit more cooperation to be able to run this tournament.
Did some teams not get my PM with the games?
Hereby I officially ask for somebody to assist me with this tournament. I will do the bulk of the work, I just need somebody to check if games are joined, send invites and follow up, because it's doing my head in.

Oh yeah, when I log in tomorrow, any games that have not filled will be forfeited.
Oh yeah 2: Please ignore my complaining if you're one of the many players that always join their games on time.
Unfortunately Rob this is the inevitability of running a tourney with over 100 participants and I don't think there's much you can do about it. Penalties probably won't be a deterrent (not for teams that are already losing badly) so I think all you can do is keep a black book and enter names of players that are late joining. Then in future whenever you stage a tourney you simply bar those people from entering.
What you really need is reserve squad of cooks. Whenever a team is late filling games you simply put a cook in their place, hehe. Or simply post the game numbers and passwords in Callouts and let anyone from the public fill the empty spaces - that'll serve them right. I genuinely like this last idea!
I'd like to volunteer to help but regrettably I can't commit, and nor can I guarantee I'd be able to check all the games so easily. I use a PC from 1997 and it's ridiculously slow drawing web pages, so it would be a real headache for me. Sorry. Maybe Dako can create a script that allows you to easily check the games that have not been joined on time - I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to write and he's pretty good at these things.

I have to politely disagree here Si. Yes, a few not joining games is to be expected. I sent over 70 invites, after the deadline had passed. That's for a total of 110 games.
Never seen it that bad in any of my tournaments, including TLO tournaments. And these are all officers, committed to it for the long haul.
Anyway, looking into a solution for this, together with [player]danryan[/player], he'll be helping me out from now on.
Big jump from 33 (your original post) to 70, lol. But yeah.....even just having to send out half a dozen is a pain and I sympathize. It must be hell to have to check all those games and chase people up using invites.
Maybe a nicely worded PM to each of the captains, explaining just how much trouble you have to go to. Really the responsibility rests on their shoulders and they should maybe be reminded of this.
Good for you though for perservering and for keeping the status quo. It's appreciated by many and is what makes this the premier tourney on CC.

I like the Idea of PM the captains of the troubled teams and let them know wich of their teammembers that not join their games.
I'll help you out Rob. I need to stop joining all non tournament games so that I have as much time as possible to help.
I'll also have to stop posting in the public forums because the fucktard mods dish out bans to people like me on a regular basis. Cunts.
let me know if you want my help. I think that applying the pressure to the team captains could work, but I found from experience that once a team knows it can't win a tournament, they tend to not give a shit.
Possibly at the halfway stage, you might want to think about eliminating 20 - 50% of the lowest scoring teams.
